Solo Leveling’s Upcoming Show Gets a Major New Update

After a lot of anticipation, Season 2 of Solo Leveling premiered in Winter 2025 and covered what many fans consider the best part of the story. This season was full of emotional moments, especially when Jinwoo was finally able to revive his mother. The story quickly moves into the Jeju Island Arc, where Jinwoo faces his toughest battle yet. We can expect even bigger challenges for him in the future, and Season 3 promises to reveal more about the source of his powers. It’s been over a year since Season 2 finished airing, and we haven’t heard any news about a continuation. However, the animation studio behind Solo Leveling, A-1 Pictures, has announced they’ll be sharing new projects in July.

I’m looking forward to this year’s Anime Expo, which runs from July 2nd to the 5th! A-1 Pictures will be having a panel on July 3rd where they’re promising to share news about their future anime and projects. I’m especially excited to hear more about Grow Up Show, their original series that was announced last year – it’s scheduled to debut in July. According to the official Anime Expo X account, we can expect to see Shota Fujii (a producer known for his work on titles like 86 and NieR: Automata Ver1.1a) and director Kanta Kamei there. Kamei previously directed shows such as Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend and Bunny Drop, so it should be a great panel!

What Is The Grow Up Show Anime About?

The story is set in 1950s Japan, a time of rapid economic growth when the circus was incredibly popular. Many traveling circus groups competed for audiences and the chance to perform at the prestigious Circus Collection festival, reserved for the nation’s top performers. The plot follows the Himawari Circus, led by ringmaster Maria, as they struggle financially while touring the country.

The circus was facing tough times, but then a talented newcomer named Mizuka Tsurumaki appeared and promised to revitalize it. The first look at the series introduces its story and main characters, all of whom are detailed on the official anime website.

The anime series Grow Up Show is a joint effort between A1-Pictures and the newly established Psyde Kick Studio. These two studios previously collaborated on the anime film Kusunoki no Bannin, which was released in Japan in January 2026 and is still awaiting international distribution. Although the animation of Solo Leveling is taking more time than anticipated, the studio is currently developing other projects. They also announced in March 2026 that they will be adapting the popular Shonen series Bless into an anime, scheduled to premiere next year.
