Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Teases Pac-Man’s Arrival on January 7th With A Classic Arcade Cabinet

Get ready, racing fans! Pac-Man, the classic arcade hero, is joining the cast of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on January 7th. To celebrate, the developers are sharing a sneak peek with a retro arcade machine and some impressive high scores.

Players can now control the iconic ghosts – Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde – alongside Pac-Man himself. The new stage is designed like a classic Pac-Man maze, which fits perfectly with the theme. If you don’t have the downloadable content, you can try out the character for free during the Pac-Man Festival, running from January 8th at 4 PM PT to January 11th at 3:59 PM PT.

The racing game will feature three new collaborations this season: Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Avatar Legends. Creative director Masaru Kobayakawa also hinted at even more exciting additions throughout the year, promising to exceed the already high expectations. He stated the team’s goal is to consistently surprise players and make this a memorable year for the game.

This could lead to even more free characters being added, possibly from other Sega games. So far, we’ve seen characters like the Vocaloid star Hatsune Miku, Joker from Persona 5, and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and both Nintendo Switch models. It quickly became popular, selling over a million copies in under a month – though it didn’t sell quite as fast as Sonic X Shadow Generations, it still performed very well.
