Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Star Confirms Major Update (And We’ve Been Waiting Years)

The recent Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie successfully introduced the character Shadow, and fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which is scheduled for release next year. Now, one of the stars of Sonic 4 has revealed a significant update that fans have been hoping for for years.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movies are adding another character to the cast: Amy Rose! Following the introductions of Knuckles and Shadow, Amy will make her debut, and Kristen Bell will be the voice behind her. Bell recently announced she’s started recording her lines for the movie, excitedly sharing the news on social media.

Sonic Fans Have Been Waiting for Amy’s Big Screen Debut

Amy first appeared in a Sonic comic book before making her video game debut in Sonic the Hedgehog CD in 1993. While she wasn’t a playable character at first, she was captured by the new villain, Metal Sonic. Now, both Amy and Metal Sonic are appearing on the big screen together again.

Amy has become a consistent presence in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, appearing as a playable character in many games. She’s also been featured in animated series like Sonic Boom and Sonic Prime. Because of her long history in the games and shows, a whole generation of fans have been hoping to see her story told in a major movie.

The cast of the Sonic movies is growing! Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow will all be back, along with Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik. While it’s unclear how this will happen after the events of Sonic 3, you can always count on Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) to find a way, and that’s what makes him such a great villain.
