Sony has finally added a much-needed feature to the PlayStation Store. Launched in 2006 with the PS3, the store has improved over the years, but still lacks many features found in more advanced platforms like Steam. While it may not reach Steam’s level of functionality, PlayStation users on both PS4 and PS5 will be happy to see this new addition.
Starting today, the PlayStation Store now displays the lowest price a game has reached in the past 30 days when it’s on sale. This helps PS4 and PS5 owners quickly see if the current price is a good deal or if they should wait for a bigger discount. Ultimately, this new feature is designed to help PlayStation users save money, though there’s still potential to make it even better.
A Major Issue
While this is a welcome improvement, the 30-day timeframe for sales isn’t quite long enough. PlayStation 4 and 5 games rarely go on sale twice within that period. Nevertheless, it’s a positive change and shows Sony is working to make the PlayStation Store better for customers.

A Better Alternative
Fortunately, better options already exist for tracking game prices. Websites like PSPrices and DekuDeals provide much more detailed price history, helping you make informed buying decisions. It’s likely Sony is planning to add similar features to the PlayStation Store to keep players engaged, as these third-party sites are currently attracting them away.
PlayStation Store has received another major update, following a recent addition inspired by Steam. Sony seems to be focusing heavily on improving the PlayStation Network, though it’s not yet clear what the overall goal is. In other news, players who don’t often browse the PlayStation Store might be surprised to learn that three big-name PS5 games, usually priced at $70 each, are currently available for only $7.
