Okay, so The Game Awards hasn’t even started yet, but Xbox just dropped some news! It looks like South of Midnight, made by Compulsion Games, is actually coming to PlayStation 5 and the new Nintendo Switch 2! They’re saying we can expect it in Spring 2026, which is a bit of a wait, but hey, more platforms is cool with me.
I’ve been totally hooked on this game that came out earlier this year! It’s available on Xbox Series X/S and PC, and thankfully it’s on Game Pass too. You play as Hazel, and the story is just incredible – it’s a really fantastical adventure set in the American Deep South. Hazel loses her home in a place called Prospero, and that sets her off on a journey where she learns she’s a Weaver and meets all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures. It’s a beautiful and mysterious world!
Players will battle creatures called Haints, repair the Grand Tapestry, and search for the protagonist’s mother. As she progresses, she’ll also learn about her family’s history. You can find a detailed review of South of Midnight on our site. While the fighting is simple, it’s a beautiful and captivating adventure set in a Gothic Southern world, featuring unique stop-motion animation and a stunning soundtrack. The game quickly gained popularity, reaching over one million players in its first month.
The Game Awards are about to begin, and everyone’s wondering what Microsoft might reveal. Could we finally see Starfield come to PlayStation 5? Keep checking back for the latest news!
