Spider-Man: Brand New Day – 6 Biggest Things Marvel Is Still Hiding After the First Trailer

Okay, I just watched the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and wow! It definitely gives us a peek at what’s coming, but honestly, it leaves me with even more questions. It’s weird, because the movie’s only four months away, but Brand New Day has been shrouded in mystery all year. We knew so little about it, and even with the trailer finally dropping, there’s still so much we don’t know. I’m excited, but also really curious to see where they’re taking this!

Following the events of No Way Home, where Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memory of Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows Peter starting a new, solitary life. He spends most of his time fighting crime as Spider-Man and protecting New York City. He’ll face challenges from villains like Tombstone, Scorpion, The Punisher, and a new enemy who can control minds.

6) The Identity of Sadie Sink’s Character

Sadie Sink joined the cast of the new Spider-Man film, Brand New Day, some time ago, but her role remains a mystery even after the trailer’s release. It appears she’s playing a character with superpowers who is being pursued by the Department of Damage Control. The trailer only shows her from behind, keeping her identity under wraps.

Many fans believe Anya Taylor-Joy’s character is Jean Grey, especially after seeing the trailer’s focus on fire and mind control. But there’s also speculation she could be another character entirely, like Jackpot, a female version of Doctor Octopus, or Firestar. Interestingly, the trailer didn’t even confirm she’s a villain.

5) Yelena Belova

Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova in the upcoming film, Brand New Day, after last appearing in Thunderbolts. While her involvement is confirmed, the trailer doesn’t reveal anything about what she’ll be doing in the movie. Some fans speculate that scenes of New York City at night suggest the film might depict Spider-Man’s activities during the events of the Void’s attack, but this remains unconfirmed.

4) Tombstone

Although Tombstone is expected to be a major villain in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, he wasn’t shown at all in the trailers. This is particularly surprising because his part in the film seems bigger than those of villains like The Hand or Boomerang. We still have no idea what he’s planning, how he’ll encounter Spider-Man, or even what he looks like – it’s a complete mystery.

3) Why Scorpion Is Back

After almost a decade of anticipation following a tease in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Michael Mando is reprising his role as Scorpion in Brand New Day. The trailer reveals Scorpion battling Spider-Man with his signature large, mechanical tail, which is thrilling news for Mac Gargan fans who’ve been eager to see the character return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several films.

The first trailer for Brand New Day doesn’t explain why Scorpion has returned after so long. It also leaves several questions unanswered, like whether Mac knows Spider-Man’s identity, the origin of his tail, or his motivation for fighting Spider-Man.

2) Why The Punisher Is There

The Punisher, also known as Frank Castle, will be a significant character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He appears briefly in the trailer, interacting with Spider-Man through playful banter while pursuing an armored vehicle. While their connection is hinted at, the trailer leaves several questions unanswered: why The Punisher is involved, who they are chasing, how he knows Spider-Man, and how this situation fits with the events following Daredevil: Born Again.

1) What Ned & MJ Know About Spider-Man

A major premise of No Way Home is that the world has forgotten Peter Parker’s identity. The first trailer for Brand New Day doesn’t explain how this memory loss works, leaving many questions unanswered. For instance, it’s unclear if people still remember Spider-Man himself. It’s possible that Ned and MJ recall being present at the final battle of No Way Home, but have simply forgotten the details – including who Peter Parker is.

The way Ned and MJ look in the Brand New Day trailer suggests they’ve figured out something’s not right, and might spend the movie trying to solve it. Interestingly, Peter tries to reconnect with MJ in the trailer, but she doesn’t seem to recognize him. This is one of the biggest mysteries Marvel has successfully kept under wraps since the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer was released.
