As a fervent fan, I’m utterly astounded by the continuous bombshells in the Age of Revelation saga! When Marvel unveiled this X-Men event, marking the 30th anniversary of Age of Apocalypse, it was intriguing to see a Spider-Man title among the announcements. It’s unusual for Spidey to be entangled in X-Men and mutant matters, but the Age of Revelation plunges the Marvel Universe 10 years into the future where a new mutant utopia is established by Apocalypse’s heir, Doug Ramsey, also known as Revelation. This paradise for mutants, however, seems to bode ill for humans. The outcome is one of the most jaw-dropping transformations in Spider-Man’s history that I can barely wait to uncover!
In the upcoming comic book series titled “Age of Revelation,” one of the new releases will be “Radioactive Spider-Man.” This series is being penned by the current writer of “Amazing Spider-Man,” Joe Kelly, and illustrated by artist Kev Walker. The storyline focuses on Spider-Man’s escapades in a world affected by the enigmatic X-Virus, which has left New York City in ruins. In a desperate attempt to protect himself from this virus, Peter Parker subjects himself to lethal radiation, only for it to maintain the infection at bay but also alter and metamorphose Spider-Man into what Marvel refers to as “the most perilous, mutated Spider-Man ever.
Readers will have a chance to see the Radioactive Spider-Man on Giuseppe Camuncoli’s cover for the first issue, available October 22nd. In the backdrop is a green and yellow radioactive emblem as Spider-Man swings with additional arms sprouting from his flanks.
On October 22nd, other titles under the banner of “Age of Revelation” are being released. These include “The Last Wolverine” issue number 1 written by Saladin Ahmed and Edgar Salazar, “Omega Kids” issue number 1 penned by Tony Fleecs and Andres Genolet, and “X-Men: Book of Revelation” issue number 1 authored by Jed MacKay and Netho Diaz.
