The auction scene has been buzzing this week with several major events happening at once. Fans of classic toys and collectibles will be excited about the Goldin vintage Star Wars auction, as well as auctions featuring British comics and items owned by the late Matthew Perry from Friends. We’re taking a closer look at some of the biggest auctions currently underway, especially those with items for fans of Star Wars, Spider-Man, Pokémon, and Sailor Moon.
Star Wars Comics Run and Rare Prototypes

A significant Star Wars auction is happening at Goldin, and one item stands out: a prototype of Boba Fett with a rocket launcher, made by Kenner in 1979. This figure, featuring the ‘L-Slot’ rocket mechanism, was originally planned for release, but Kenner ultimately cancelled it due to safety issues.
Kenner did eventually ship the Boba Fett figure, but they permanently attached the missile, making versions with the removable missile extremely hard to find. This early 1979 prototype is in excellent condition, graded a 9.0 by AFA, and the current high bid is $36,000. With 25 days left in the auction, there’s still time to make your own bid.
Goldin is holding an auction featuring a complete run of Star Wars comics – all 106 issues from 1977 to 1986! Each comic has been professionally graded, and the collection includes several copies in near-mint condition (graded 9.8). The only missing issue is #107. Bidding currently stands at $5,500, and the auction will close in 25 days. We’re still at Star Wars land, but this time focusing on comics instead of toys!
Sailor Moon and Pokemon Are Quite The Tag Team

Now, let’s look at anime! We’re starting with Sailor Moon S. This third season, which aired in 1994, is represented in a Heritage Auctions listing for a Production Cell from the opening sequence, ‘Moonlight Legend’. The cell itself is beautiful, showing a close-up of Sailor Moon, and is in very good condition with only minor wear. Bidding is currently at $3,600, and the auction will close in 6 days.

Sailor Moon isn’t the only anime art up for auction! Pokémon fans will be excited to learn that a production cel featuring Ash and Pikachu is also available. This cel shows Ash with Pikachu happily on his shoulder, and the auction includes the painted background and the original drawing as well. It’s a beautiful piece, and the current highest bid is $10,500. The auction will close in 6 days.
Amazing Spider-Man Original Art Is A Fan’s Dream

Okay, we’re wrapping up with some Spider-Man goodness! I’m really excited about two original pages from The Amazing Spider-Man. First, there’s a page from issue #355, drawn by Mark Bagley and Randy Emberlin. It screams ’90s Spider-Man – seriously, it’s got all the heroes that were popular back then teaming up, like The Punisher, Moon Knight, and Night Thrasher. If you’re a fan of that era and want to see them all together on one page, this is it! The bidding is currently at $625, and you only have one day left to get in on the action.

This original page is from The Amazing Spider-Man #383, created by Mark Bagley and Randy Emberlin. It showcases a striking image of Spider-Man after a battle with The Jury, and features fewer supporting characters. It’s a great choice for Spider-Man fans, and the current high bid is $1,450. The auction will close in one day.
