Even though the future of Star Trek TV shows is unclear right now, fans still have plenty to be excited about! The franchise is doing incredibly well with its comic books, and a new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is on the way. A first look at season four was just revealed at CCXP Mexico, along with news that it will be released sooner than expected.
Season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is coming to Paramount+ on Thursday, July 23rd! New episodes will be released weekly, with all 10 episodes available by September 24th. The preview suggests a wild season with unexpected twists, including dinosaurs and cowboys! You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s What to Expect from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4
Okay, so I’m a little bummed to hear that Season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is going to be the second-to-last season. The good news, though, is they’ve already finished filming Season 5, which will be the final one! Apparently, in Season 4, Captain Pike and the crew of the Enterprise are going on a bunch of really exciting and emotional missions. We’re talking exploring new planets, facing personal struggles, meeting new people (and seeing some old friends!), and, of course, battling some scary aliens. It sounds like they’re really aiming for that classic Star Trek vibe of optimism even when things get tough.
Season 4 of Strange New Worlds will continue to build towards the classic Star Trek storyline, acting as a prequel that shows how James T. Kirk, played by Paul Wesley, eventually becomes captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The upcoming season will focus on setting the stage for Kirk’s command, as the final season is planned to be shorter than previous ones.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 debuts July 23rd on Paramount+.
