The Star Wars prequel trilogy has experienced an incredible turnaround in popularity. Once heavily criticized – particularly Jar Jar Binks – these films are now being recognized for their strengths. Several factors likely contributed to this change, including fans reconsidering their initial reactions, the success of The Clone Wars animated series, and disappointment with the later sequel trilogy. Today, viewers are appreciating aspects like the music, action sequences, visuals, and expansive cast of characters in Episodes 1, 2, and 3.
While The Phantom Menace featured a lot of characters – so many that even dedicated Star Wars fans might forget some – one fan has gone above and beyond to collect action figures of nearly everyone who appeared in the film, including the most minor characters. As a big Star Wars enthusiast myself, I have to admit I struggled to recognize many of them! It’s such a complete collection, I wouldn’t be shocked if it even included a figure of Glup Shitto.
Star Wars Fan’s Action Figure Collection Features Some Of The Most Obscure Characters From Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

A Star Wars enthusiast named East-Door1122 shared photos of their impressive, unopened collection on Reddit. It includes popular characters from Episode 1 like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Padmé Amidala, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, and even Jar Jar Binks. But the collection really stands out with its inclusion of lesser-known figures! They’ve got action figures of Ody Mandrell and Gasgano – other racers from the Podracing sequence – as well as Adi Gallia (a Jedi Master), Ric Olié (a Naboo pilot), and even Captain Panaka.
The collection also includes characters like Watto, Captain Tarpals, Boss Nass, Chancellor Valorum, Rune Haako, and Nute Gunray. Interestingly, there appear to be two Nute Gunray figures packaged together! These are all from the Comm Tech line of Star Wars action figures, which originally came with a chip that played character sound clips. It’s unclear if those chips still function, but the collector doesn’t seem interested in opening them to test.
As a lifelong Star Wars fan and collector, I noticed something interesting – they seem to be missing a pretty rare piece! It’s the original C-3PO from Episode 1, but before he got his gold plating. And believe it or not, I actually have that very figure right here with me as I type this.
