Star Wars Jedi’s “Final Chapter” is in Development, EA Confirms

As a dedicated fan who’s spent countless hours navigating the galaxy far, far away, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nostalgia with the news that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is not just a standalone game, but the final chapter in this thrilling trilogy.

Just before “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” was released last year, its director, Stig Asmussen, mentioned that he had initially conceived the series as a three-part saga. Recently, publisher Electronic Arts has confirmed that the upcoming “Star Wars Jedi” game will indeed conclude this trilogy.

At a recent Investors Day 2024 event, EA’s president of entertainment and technology, Laura Miele, announced that Respawn Entertainment is developing the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. She referred to this upcoming game as the “concluding part” or “final installment” of the saga.

“Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players,” she said.

Immediately following the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor last year, it became apparent that work on a sequel was already in progress at Respawn Entertainment, a fact that was later validated by actor Cameron Monaghan, who plays the character Cal Kestis.

In the upcoming installment of the series, Stig Asmussen – known for directing both “Fallen Order” and “Survivor” – will not be at the helm. Since last September, Asmussen has departed from Respawn Entertainment to establish a brand-new AAA-level independent studio.

EA has also confirmed that the Star Wars Jedi series has surpassed 40 million players to date.
