Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield will be released on PS5, along with a significant free update and new downloadable content. For over a year, rumors have circulated about Starfield coming to PlayStation 5, following Xbox’s move to release some games on multiple platforms. Those rumors are now true, and the PS5 launch will be paired with major improvements to the Starfield game itself.
The highly anticipated game Starfield is coming to PS5 on April 7th! PlayStation players who haven’t had a chance to explore the game will be thrilled, and there’s good news for Xbox and PC players too. Bethesda is releasing a free update called “Free Lanes” which includes a lot of improvements based on what players have been saying. This update will enhance the Starfield experience with new places to visit, resources to find, crew members to meet, and a cruise mode that lets you travel between planets with your ship.
On April 7th, a new expansion for Starfield called Terran Armada will be released. This is the second DLC since the game launched, and it adds new characters, locations, and a robotic army from the Terran Armada. Terran Armada is a larger expansion than the previous Shattered Space DLC, which was limited to a single location, and it promises a potentially captivating storyline. Unlike the free Free Lanes update, Terran Armada will cost $9.99.
Starfield Looks Better Than Ever
Bethesda recently gave me an early look at the upcoming updates for Starfield, and I’m really impressed. I enjoyed the game when it first launched in 2023, but I stopped playing after a while. I’ve been hoping for a reason to return, and the new Free Lanes and Terran Armada content seems like just that. I’m planning to jump back in myself when it releases in early April.
PS5 owners who’ve been waiting for Starfield are in luck – you’ll be getting the best version of the game! And it’s a great deal: the standard edition will be available for just $49.99. There will also be a premium edition with all the downloadable content for $69.99, but the standard edition offers a more affordable way to experience Starfield than when it first launched.
