Starfield’s Nintendo Switch 2 Port May Not Ever Release – Rumor

Just finished watching the Nintendo Direct – even though it was a Partner Showcase, there was a TON of cool stuff announced! Bethesda ended things with release dates for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. And get this – The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is coming out later this year, which I’m super excited about!

Many people have noticed that Starfield isn’t currently available on Nintendo Switch. While rumors suggested it might arrive on PS5 on April 7th, a reliable source on ResetEra, shinobi602, says a Switch version has been delayed indefinitely and may never be released.

While neither Bethesda nor Microsoft ever confirmed it, rumors started in January 2025 about a possible version of the game for the Switch. However, we haven’t heard announcements about Diablo 4 or Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to the Switch 2 either. Considering development of Borderlands 4 on the platform was recently paused – and for several months, reportedly – it makes you think this might be due to a lack of resources.

Don’t worry, Bethesda isn’t abandoning Starfield! They’ve announced they’re continuing to improve the game, with plans to make space travel more enjoyable and add new features, along with some smaller updates. Plus, they’re currently developing a new story expansion that appears to center around a new group called the Terran Armada.

There’s been talk of a major update, especially after some creators got a preview, but don’t anticipate a complete overhaul like what happened with Cyberpunk 2077. Only time will tell, but if recent discoveries about possible space travel are true, it could finally fix a problem fans have been wanting addressed for a long time.
