As expected, PlayStation will be holding a new State of Play presentation on September 24th. Every year, PlayStation typically hosts a State of Play in September to reveal upcoming games for the PS5, both for the rest of the current year and a sneak peek at what’s in development for the future. The September 2025 presentation will continue this tradition, offering fans a closer look at what’s coming to PS5.
PlayStation will host a new State of Play broadcast on Wednesday, September 24th at 5pm Eastern Time / 2pm Pacific Time. The stream, available on YouTube and Twitch, is expected to last about 35 minutes and will feature updates on upcoming third-party and indie games, as well as news from several PlayStation Studios teams.
During the presentation, we’ll get a first look at *Saros*, the upcoming game from Housemarque, with about five minutes of brand new gameplay. *Saros* is currently the only game PlayStation has confirmed for release in 2026, making it a key title for the company as they look ahead to next year.
What Else Should We Expect From This New State of Play?
In addition to potential news about *Saros*, there’s talk that Insomniac Games will showcase *Marvel’s Wolverine* at the upcoming State of Play. We haven’t heard much about *Wolverine* since it was first announced in 2021, leaving fans eager for updates. If it does appear at the event, it likely means the game is on track for a 2026 release and that Sony will begin a full marketing campaign.
Beyond what’s been revealed, many more PlayStation games are still in development and haven’t been publicly shown yet. Naughty Dog is creating a new game called *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*, but it likely won’t be released until 2027 at the earliest, so we won’t see it at this event. Haven Studios is also working on *Fairgames*, a multiplayer online game, but reports suggest development has faced some challenges.
Even with everything else that might be shown, the PlayStation State of Play is shaping up to be a big event with lots of exciting reveals. Keep checking back with ComicBook for full coverage and all the latest announcements over the next day.
