I just finished testing the Arctis Nova Elite, my first high-resolution headset, and it seems like the recommendation system recognized my interest in this type of technology.
High-resolution certification is given to headsets that meet specific quality standards, including support for wide audio ranges (up to 40 kHz) and high-quality 24-bit audio streaming. While some parts of the certification may be more about marketing – especially regarding frequencies humans can’t even hear – it generally indicates a set of features that improve sound quality.
I kept seeing these Status Pro X earbuds all over Instagram and other social media, and honestly, I usually avoid buying things I see on there because I end up regretting it! These *looked* really good, though, but with earbuds, it all comes down to how they actually *sound*. And I have to say, I was really surprised – the Status Pro X actually sound even better than they look!
Okay, I have to say, I was really skeptical of that Instagram ad, but the Status Pro X earbuds are seriously incredible. I’ve tried a lot of different earbuds, including the Samsung Galaxy Buds3, and these completely blow them away – honestly, my Buds3 now feel like cheap toys in comparison. I’m genuinely impressed!
Status Pro X: Specs and price
While the Status Pro X headphones have a high-resolution certification, that alone doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s the combination of all their features that creates the impressive sound quality we’ll detail below.

At first glance, the $300 price might seem high, but considering all the advanced technology packed into these earbuds, it makes sense. Beyond just sound quality, they feature cutting-edge specs like LDAC and LC3 wireless audio, Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connection, Auracast compatibility, and are even dust and water resistant (IP55 certified). They support Qi wireless charging, offering 8 hours of listening time on a single charge and up to 32 hours with the charging case. Plus, they include effective noise cancellation (~52 dB) and six microphones for clear call quality.
The Status Pro X headphones use a powerful combination of three 12mm drivers, which earned them high-resolution audio certification. But how do they actually perform when you listen to them?
Status Pro X: Comfort and design

The Status Pro X earbuds have a sleek, understated design. They feature a rectangular shape with silver and black details, avoiding overly bright colors or prominent logos. These earbuds are designed to complement your personal style, rather than demanding you adapt to theirs.
These earbuds are a bit bigger than most, but it’s great that Status didn’t cover them with flashy logos. They’ve kept the design clean with just a small, subtle waveform logo on the compact case – it’s easily small enough to slip into a pocket.
Most earbuds, like AirPods and Galaxy Buds, have a bulky plastic part that sits outside your ear, and it’s usually more about fitting the electronics than being comfortable. Thankfully, the Status Pro X earbuds are different. They use the ear tips themselves to stay securely in your ear, instead of relying on a large outer body.
I’ve worn these for many hours and they’re really comfortable and, importantly, stay securely in my ears. My previous Galaxy Buds3 kept falling out, which was annoying when I was traveling. I definitely don’t want to spend another transatlantic flight searching for lost earbuds, and I’m confident the Status Pro X will prevent that.
The earbuds are controlled with both touch-sensitive surfaces and physical buttons, and you can personalize how both work using the companion app. The touch controls offer more customization options, but it would be great if the app allowed for even more control over the physical buttons in future updates.
Status Pro X: Audio and features

Ultimately, sound quality is what matters most, and the Status Pro X truly excels in that area. While the design, comfort, and features are all great, the sound is what really sets it apart – it’s noticeably better than anything else I’ve tried.
I spent around $200 on Samsung Galaxy Buds3, but I’m really disappointed with them. I tried the Arctis Gamebuds, which cost about the same, and they were much more comfortable and, importantly, stayed in my ears. However, I’m now looking for earbuds with better sound quality – something closer to what I get with headphones like the Arctis Nova Elite or the beyerdynamic DT 1990s that I often borrow from my family.
I doubted small earbuds could deliver truly good sound. I avoid larger headphones when I’m on the go, as I prefer something more compact and convenient. I assumed that with a smaller size, sound quality would have to suffer. But the Status Pro X earbuds have completely changed my mind.
Once I tried the Status Pro X earbuds, I realized there was no way I could go back to using cheaper ones, and you’ll feel the same way.
The Status Pro X earbuds deliver the best sound quality I’ve ever experienced. They’re also remarkably comfortable and stay securely in my ears, but it’s the rich, immersive sound that truly makes them stand out, no matter what you’re listening to.
I’ve tested the Status Pro X headphones with everything – gaming on my Xbox, work calls and tasks on my Razer Blade laptop, and high-quality music on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra through Spotify. It’s so enjoyable to use that I quickly stopped thinking about reviewing it and just started having fun!
The sound from these instruments is clear and detailed across all frequencies, creating a truly captivating listening experience. I particularly appreciate strong bass, and these presets deliver it powerfully when desired. Surprisingly, I found the default sound profile to be perfect right away, without needing to adjust the equalizer at all.
Once I tried the Status Pro X earbuds, I realized there was no way I could go back to using cheaper ones – and you’ll feel the same way.
Status Pro X: Final thoughts

Okay, as a huge earbud fan, I have to say the Status Pro X are seriously impressive. They’ve really packed *everything* into these – the design is beautiful, the technology is top-notch, and they’re loaded with features. But the best part? The sound quality is absolutely incredible. Honestly, they feel worth every penny!
If you’re a big music lover like me, these earbuds will seriously upgrade your listening experience. I used to use cheaper earbuds, and switching to the Status Pro X was like hearing music in a whole new way. It’s a bit of an exaggeration to say it’s life-changing, but they really are that much better.
These earbuds offer incredible sound quality and comfort, and while they are a bit of an investment, they’re absolutely worth the price. I’ve tested many earbuds, and sometimes, spending a little more truly delivers a noticeable improvement – and that’s definitely the case with the Status Pro X.
