Stefon Diggs is maintaining his innocence.
The New England Patriots wide receiver appeared in court on February 13th in Dedham, Massachusetts, and pleaded not guilty to charges of felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery. These charges stem from accusations made by his former chef.
Stefon is innocent of all charges,” said his lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, in a statement to TopMob News. “We can prove he didn’t commit the actions described in the complaint.
Schuster stated they believe a thorough review will prove the accusations against Stefon are false and he will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
The legal issues facing Diggs, who recently became a father to a baby boy with rapper Cardi B in November, began with a claim made by his previous chef. The chef alleges the incident happened on December 2nd.
On December 16th, the chef filed a report with Dedham police, as shared with WBZ-TV. She explained that she was hired as a personal chef for an NFL player for the season and was living at his home in Dedham. According to her statement, a disagreement on December 2nd stemmed from payment issues – she expected weekly pay, but was only receiving monthly payments.
According to the police report, as relayed by WBZ-TV, the conversation seemed to upset the man. The woman claims he then slapped her. She tried to push him away, but he reportedly attempted to choke her with his elbow.

According to CBS News, Diggs has been instructed not to contact the person who accused him and must appear in court on February 13th. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 1st.
I remember when the first accusations came out, Diggs’ lawyer back then, David Meier, immediately went on TopMob News and said Diggs completely denied everything. He was very firm about it, saying Diggs didn’t do any of what he was being accused of.
He stated that the claims are false and were never looked into because they simply didn’t happen. He believes the accusations are a direct consequence of a financial disagreement with a former employee who wasn’t happy with the outcome, and Stefon intends to prove everything in court.

After playing in the Super Bowl on February 8th with the New England Patriots – where they lost to the Seattle Seahawks – his team continued to support him.
The New England Patriots have responded to accusations made against Stefon Diggs, stating that he has denied the allegations entirely. The team has expressed its support for Diggs.
The Patriots said they are still collecting information and will fully cooperate with both the NFL and legal authorities. They added that, because this is an active legal issue and out of respect for everyone involved, they won’t be making any further statements right now.
