Stellar Blade’s New Patch Won’t Let Players Launch The Game On Steam, But There May Be A Fix

The Shift Up Corporation has rolled out an updated version of the Stellar Blade for both PC and PlayStation 5. This release brings along further enhancements and problem resolutions. However, a few PC gamers have encountered troubles when starting their games post-update download.

In this update, we’ve released Version 1.3.0 for PC. Accompanying it are the detailed changes, or “patch notes.” While most players are happy with the ongoing improvements to user experience, some users have found that the new patch is causing issues when trying to start the game on Steam.

One user on the Steam gaming forum reported, “The game isn’t loading for me right now,” suggesting that the issue might be isolated to their account. They mentioned they had been playing for twenty minutes prior to an update and have since been unable to start the game again.

As a gamer, I downloaded the 1.3.0 update and fired up the game, but it abruptly froze up on me. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I uninstalled and re-installed it, but the problem persisted. It was running smoothly before this patch.

If you’re encountering the same problem, a developer known as ‘Wolfcastle’ from Stellar Blade has proposed a potential remedy for it (as reported by PCGamesN).

If you’re encountering troubles starting the game following an update, it could be due to inconsistencies with UE4SS or the mod you have installed. Wolfcastle suggested uninstalling these files to check if the problem still occurs. Nevertheless, another player mentioned that this method didn’t resolve their issue even after eliminating their Stellar Blade mods.

The team at Shift Up hasn’t addressed this problem as of now, but a user on the Stellar Blade subreddit proposes a short-term solution: editing certain UE4SS files within the game’s folder.

In the latest update, patch 1.3.0, not only are bug issues addressed, but it also enhances the photo mode feature and requires players to restart their game upon activating the FSR frame generation. A more detailed breakdown of these changes can be found in the provided patch notes, which also cover PS5-specific updates.
