A new trailer for the second season of Disney+’s A Thousand Blows is out, hinting at a difficult time for Stephen Graham’s character, Sugar Goodson.
The new series is based on real stories of people struggling to survive in London’s East End in the 1880s. It begins a year after the events of the first season, following Sugar, Hezekiah Moscow (played by Malachi Kirby), and Mary Carr (Erin Doherty).
The latest trailer features Sugar speaking to the pair, beginning with the line: “You’re likely wondering why I’ve brought you here.”
He went on to say he knew some people wanted him gone, and he understood why. He explained that they were all in a dangerous situation and needed to trust one another completely.
Afterwards, Hezekiah tells him: “You fight your way and I’ll fight mine”.

The trailer also features Mary walking confidently with Alice (Darci Shaw), and a scene of her returning to her previous habits by firing a gun.
The new season reveals boxer Hezekiah [Kirby] struggling with his former strength, and boxing promoter Sugar facing personal turmoil, including family estrangement and a battle with alcohol, as detailed in the official description.
As Wapping nears its end, Mary Carr (Doherty) returns with her trusted ally, Alice Diamond (Darci Shaw), to gather her crew and take back control.

Mary, true to form, has a plan, and this one includes everyone she loves. But this time, the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been.
Season 2 will also feature the return of James Nelson-Joyce, Hannah Walters, Nadia Albina, Morgan Hilaire, Jemma Carlton, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Jason Tobin, Susan Lynch, Daniel Mays, Gary Lewis, Aliyah Odoffin, and Robert Glenister, joining Jodie Comer, Stephen Graham, Adrian Lester, and Aisling Doherty.
The cast is growing with the addition of Ned Dennehy, known for his role in Peaky Blinders, as Bull Jeremy, and Catherine McCormack, from Slow Horses, who will play Sophie Lyons.
A Thousand Blows season 2 will premiere on 9th January 2026 on Disney+.
