Stephen King Hypes Up Apple TV’s Pluribus & Urges New Season 2 Update

The Apple TV series has broken records and received high praise from critics, even impressing a well-known horror and science fiction author. Despite the positive reception, the author hopes the show will be renewed and return quickly.

The new Apple TV+ show Pluribus launched on November 7th and quickly became a popular hit. Created by the same person behind Breaking Bad and featuring Rhea Seehorn (from Better Call Saul), the show initially received a lot of positive attention and broke viewership records for Apple TV. However, after news of delays for Season 2, author Stephen King took to X (formerly Twitter) to encourage creator Vince Gilligan to speed up production.

The first season of Pluribus concluded on December 24th. Its release date was adjusted twice, initially to coincide with Thanksgiving and then with Christmas. This strategic decision also helped the show avoid competing with the premiere of Stranger Things Season 5.

Vince Gilligan has responded to the show’s huge popularity, which Apple TV has already renewed for another season, even before the first season is finished. He cautioned, however, that they’re taking their time with the next season and don’t want to feel pressured to release it quickly.

When asked about a second season, Gilligan said they’re still developing it, but want to take their time and get it right. He explained he wishes they could speed up the process, but it’s taking as long as it needs.

Although the next season could be just as good as the first, viewers are eager to find out what happens after the dramatic ending, and the show’s creator feels the same way.

On X (formerly Twitter), someone shared that Vince Gilligan, the creator of the show PLURIBUS, isn’t planning to start work on Season 2 anytime soon. The person who posted added a playful message to Gilligan, saying they’re hoping for a new season before too much time passes.

Many fans share the author’s frustration with the extended wait for Season 2. While the season is still being written, a release date hasn’t been announced, and it’s unlikely to arrive before 2027.

One viewer complained that TV shows are taking far too long to produce. They pointed out that in the past, shows delivered 24 high-quality episodes each year, but now seasons often only have 8 to 10 episodes and come out every two or three years.

Many viewers feel long gaps between seasons of a show can kill its popularity. One person pointed to the delay of Wednesday Season 2 as a prime example, and another stated that extended waits are a major downside of modern television.

Pluribus Was a Huge Hit With the Critics, But Divided the Audience

Vince Gilligan, known for creating some of the greatest TV shows ever, has done it again – but this time with something totally new. Pluribus moves away from his usual crime dramas and ventures into science fiction. Despite the change in genre, critics have been very positive about it.
