Stephen Nedoroscik and Tess McCracken’s relationship is doing a pivot turn.

After rumors circulated online, Tess has confirmed she and her partner, an Olympic gymnast, have ended their 10-year relationship.

Tess, 28, revealed in a TikTok video on April 4th that she and Stephen broke up in early January and are no longer a couple.

Tess admitted she’d been delaying a public announcement about their breakup, but acknowledged that many people online had already guessed it.

She said she’s removed everything from her social media because any post she makes gets a lot of attention, including discussion on Reddit. She feels it’s better to be open about things rather than trying to keep them secret.

Stephen and Tess met while attending Penn State University and started dating as freshmen in 2016. Both were gymnasts in college, but Stephen, now 27, became widely known for his incredible performance on the pommel horse at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he won two bronze medals.

Reflecting back on why the pair called it quits, the former gymnast shared that “life happens.”

She explained that the split wasn’t caused by any big conflict, just the natural progression of time, which she found difficult to accept. “It’s hard to explain, but we simply grew apart,” she said. They’d been together for nearly a decade, having met and started dating as teenagers – she was 17, he was 18 – and now they were both approaching 30.

She pointed out that priorities change with age – things you didn’t worry about when you were eighteen can become important as you get older, like in your late twenties.

And the pair’s living situation also played a role in the timing of their split.

Our lease was ending in mid-January, so I decided it was a good time to address things,” Tess explained, also sharing that she now has primary custody of their cat. “I was already doing most of the cat’s care, and Stephen is allergic, so it naturally made sense.”

Tess shared that she and her pet are doing great, and also honestly discussed how she’s been adapting to life after her recent split, now that several months have passed.

She said she’s been living in a new apartment for a few months and is finally starting to focus on her own interests again, figuring out what she enjoys doing.

Tess shared that she’s learning to understand herself and what makes her happy, especially now that she’s focusing on her own needs and interests.

After ten years together, Tess and Stephen have broken up, but Tess says she hopes he finds happiness in the future.

Look, there are absolutely no hard feelings on my end. I genuinely want to see him do well – I always have! But things need to change regarding how I offer my support. It’s about finding a new way to do things that works for both of us now.
