Iceberg Interactive and Bad Viking announced that Strange Antiquities, the follow-up to Strange Horticulture, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 4 on April 30th.
Strange Antiquities first launched for Switch and PC via Steam on September 17, 2025.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
You’re the owner of a shop selling old, magical items. Explore the strange and shadowy town of Undermere, full of secrets and odd events. Discover and learn about powerful artifacts, and use them to help the townspeople with their bizarre troubles—don’t forget to give your cat some attention, too!
A Note From the Shopkeeper
Dear Applicant,
I am pleased to offer you the role of Apprentice Thaumaturge at Strange Antiquities.
You’re a quick learner with the right temperament for this job – exactly what I’m looking for. I need you to manage the shop while I take care of some urgent business. You’ll be providing the people of Undermere with magical items, so attention to detail is crucial.
Okay, so Undermere looks like a peaceful little town by a big lake, right? But it’s way more than that. It’s basically the last line of defense between our world and… something else. And honestly, it’s up to us to keep things from falling apart.
Permit me now to outline your duties—you’ll need to be up to speed from day one.
On Your Duties in the Shop (Gameplay Mechanics)
I just love imagining walking into this shop every day! It’s all warm and inviting with candles everywhere, and you get to meet all sorts of people. Honestly, you never know what they’ll need, sometimes it’s a little crazy, but it’s never boring. It sounds like the perfect place to work!
- Study and Identify – Examine, identify and catalogue strange artefacts. Observation, deduction, and careful reference to our collection of illustrated tomes will serve you well. Mistakes can be… costly.
- Help… Or Hinder – When dealing with powerful items, your choices matter. Will you help someone with their problem, or curse them with a horrid affliction? In a small town like this, people remember your misdeeds.
- Explore and Discover – From time to time, you will have to leave the safety of the shop. Whether investigating rumors or retrieving artefacts, my well-loved hand-drawn maps will guide you to where you need to go.
- Solve and Uncover – Your day-to-day might already feel like a puzzle, but this store holds many more. Few know how old this building is, and fewer still know what secrets lie within its walls.
- Tending the Familiar – And, of course, Jupiter, the shop’s cat, demands daily affection. In return for his company, please oblige him with the occasional scratch behind the ears.
About My Absence (Narrative and Setting)
These ravens are an omen. There is a sickness in this town and I intend to investigate it.
Barton Potter mentioned his bad eye is bothering him again, which isn’t good. Also, there’s a strange darkness settling over Jack Hungerford’s house. I need to travel to Ravenglass, but I’ll speak with the occult expert, Verona Green, before I go.
There are always threats to Undermere, and we’re the only thing standing in their way. You might be needed to help defend it if things get worse.
In Conclusion
This shop represents everything I’ve built my life around, and it’s been a good journey so far. I hope it brings you both wonderful discoveries and intriguing puzzles! Just be warned: some items are better left alone, and not everyone who walks through the door is who they appear to be.
I look forward to your arrival.
Sincerely,
Eli White

A Note from the Developers
We’re two brothers from the UK who’ve been developing games together for more than ten years. In 2022, we released our puzzle game, Strange Horticulture, and the reaction has been fantastic! It received great reviews, award nominations, and was featured on many ‘best of’ lists. What’s been most rewarding, though, is reading all the positive feedback from our players on Steam, where the game still has an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating after nearly 12,000 reviews.
While not a direct sequel, Strange Antiquities shares some characters and familiar elements with Strange Horticulture. It’s a new story, but fans of the original game and its unique atmosphere will find it comfortable and engaging.
Thank you to everyone who has played Strange Horticulture and shown their support – whether by leaving a review, spreading the word, or simply enjoying the game! It’s been a wonderful experience, and we’re excited to share what comes next.
Many thanks,
Rob and John
