So, I was checking out the new trailer for Stranger Than Heaven from the Xbox showcase, and I read an interview with Masayoshi Yokoyama, the executive producer at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. He was talking about how the team really focused on making the different time periods in the game feel authentic and immersive – like you’re actually there when you’re playing. They put a ton of effort into making it a really believable experience.
We don’t have much more to share right now beyond what you’ve already seen. Creating a game with five different cities and time periods is a huge project, and we’re working hard to accurately and beautifully represent these often-overlooked settings. It’s going to be a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
Yokoyama discussed the game’s combat, promising to share more details about its intense battles in the months ahead. The demonstration showcased fast-paced, dynamic fights featuring a variety of weapons, grappling, and environmental interactions. He described this as a completely new combat system, hinting that what viewers saw was only a small preview of what’s to come.
He also praised the game’s music, hinting that even better tracks are still to come. He said the current music is catchy, but shared that his personal favorites haven’t been released yet, promising fans there’s much more great music on the way.
He didn’t want to share any specific details about returning characters, but hinted that fans will be very excited when RGG Studio announces the cast.
I’m curious who you’re thinking of! We definitely highlighted some key characters in the trailer, and we’re thrilled to say the game features a fantastic cast. We’ll be sharing more details during the upcoming Xbox presentation focusing on Stranger Than Heaven.
The broadcast is set for May 6, 2026, and promises to reveal more about a game we’re really looking forward to. It will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and will also be included with Game Pass and available on Xbox PC with Play Anywhere support.
