People are eagerly awaiting the continuation of Stranger Things, and the first part of season 5 is already a huge success, despite only four episodes being released so far. These episodes are breaking records and bringing renewed attention to the entire series.
The first part of the fifth season of Stranger Things has broken Netflix records, becoming the most popular English-language series premiere ever with 59.6 million views. It topped the TV charts in 90 out of 93 countries and landed in the Top 10 everywhere else.
Even after only four episodes, the latest season is making a big impact! This week, every season of the show landed in the Top 10 – a first for any English-language series. Season 1 took the number 3 spot with 8.9 million views, followed by season 4 at number 5 with 6.1 million views. Seasons 2 and 3 also performed well, coming in at numbers 6 and 8 with 5.6 and 4.6 million views respectively.
The Duffer Brothers are overjoyed with how fans have reacted to the first part of the season and can’t wait to share the conclusion. They said the number of viewers for Volume 1 has far exceeded their expectations, calling the response incredible.
The Duffer Brothers shared that it’s amazing to see the show still so popular after ten years, and they’re grateful to the dedicated fans and the many artists who worked on it. They’re thrilled to release the second volume and promise there’s plenty more story to tell.
The show’s first four seasons have already been viewed a total of 1.2 billion times, and the fifth season is proving just as popular. The second part of season 5 will include three episodes debuting on Christmas Day, with the very last episode of the series arriving on Netflix and in certain cinemas on New Year’s Eve.
