Many viewers have criticized the show for having too many characters, a complicated backstory added with the Upside Down, and writing that feels messy and repetitive. Specifically, some found the dialogue to be reused and the way Will’s storyline about coming out was handled to be awkward. However, others have come to the defense of that particular scene.

A strong finale could help repair some of the negativity surrounding the show, but a disappointing one risks damaging its reputation, much like what happened with Game of Thrones. It’s a lot to live up to.

Besides Harbour and Brown, the cast of Stranger Things features Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Winona Ryder, Brett Gelman, and a whole lot of other talented actors.
