Stranger Things Season 5 Reveals First Look at Vecna’s Redesign

New promotional images for *Stranger Things* Season 5 have given fans their first clear look at Vecna’s face. After being revealed as the main villain in Season 4, Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) is shown to be the powerful force behind the Upside Down. His goal is to combine the Upside Down with the town of Hawkins, and he almost succeeded by the end of last season. Though Nancy, Steve, and Robin managed to temporarily defeat him, the Upside Down still broke through into Hawkins, setting up a major challenge for Eleven and her friends in the upcoming season.

In the final showdown, Steve, Nancy, and Robin managed to set Vecna on fire, using a Molotov cocktail and shotgun blasts. The damage he sustained could be why Vecna looks different in the upcoming episodes of *Stranger Things*, as revealed in new promotional artwork. Valda, in partnership with *Stranger Things*, shared the first complete view of Vecna’s redesigned face for Season 5 with a line of special, flavor-themed candies.

Vecna still looked like his usual skeletal self-thin, decaying, and almost like a corpse. However, his left eye was noticeably injured, likely from the fight with Nancy, Steve, and Robin at the end of Season 4.

He likely lost his eye in the dramatic showdown at the end of the last season. However, because he has supernatural abilities, he might be able to get a replacement before he faces the Hawkins group again.

A noticeable part of Vecna’s new appearance is his severely burned face. Season 5 of *Stranger Things* needs to explain how the Upside Down’s influence will change Hawkins, and it appears Vecna intends to use the town to regain his original form.

The new trailer for Season 5 gave us another glimpse of Vecna’s body, and it looks like it’s changing. This suggests he has a surprising ability to control his physical form, potentially even allowing him to heal himself – though it would likely be a long process.

Season 4 of *Stranger Things* gave us the clearest view yet of Vecna, revealing the extent of his decaying, inhuman form and how much of his original self he’s lost.

Season 4 really emphasized Vecna’s unsettling, empty eyes, and the new look in Season 5 suggests one of them might be gone. This could make him even more dangerous and ruthless towards the people of Hawkins.

Season 4 of *Stranger Things* revealed Vecna’s more human appearance before he became the monster we see in the show. Some fans believe this form might reappear, potentially to confuse Eleven and her friends, particularly Nancy, who seems very focused on understanding Vecna’s past.

The fifth season of *Stranger Things* is the show’s last and is eagerly awaited by fans. It promises a thrilling final battle between Vecna and the characters from Hawkins. The season brings back the show’s popular cast, including David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink.

Netflix is trying a new release plan for its latest series. The first four episodes will be available on November 26, 2025, followed by three more episodes on Christmas Day, 2025. The final episode will premiere on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025.

Why Stranger Things Season 5 Shows Vecna at His Most Dangerous

Vecna is seeking revenge in *Stranger Things* Season 5 after his defeat (and subsequent redesign) in the Season 4 finale. He’s likely to be even more ruthless this time around, putting the heroes of Hawkins in serious danger.

I’m completely fascinated – and terrified – by Vecna from *Stranger Things*. He’s not just strong, he’s incredibly powerful, able to move things with his mind, get inside your head, and he’s almost impossible to hurt. He’s a genius, and the way he’s connected to the Upside Down is chilling. Now that Hawkins is falling into that other dimension, it feels like there’s no limit to what he can do. It’s honestly scary to think about!

After being defeated by a group of teenagers in the Season 4 finale, Vecna probably has backup plans. He’s likely prepared to prevent another defeat, and might even kill one of the heroes from Hawkins to demonstrate his power.

In Season 4, Vecna carefully chose his victims, like Max (played by Sadie Sink). However, after sustaining injuries – losing an eye and being severely burned – he became even more dangerous and unpredictable, increasing the threat to everyone around him. This made it even more crucial for Eleven and her friends to find a way to defeat him for good.
