Stranger Things has officially become the most popular show on streaming. Nielsen data shows that the first part of Season 5 racked up an incredible 8.46 billion minutes watched in its first week. This is significantly higher than any other show and sets a new record for the biggest debut week viewership of all time.
Interestingly, Stranger Things actually held the previous record! But Season 5 blew past the 7.2 billion minutes watched during its first week in 2022 – by over a billion minutes! No other streaming show has ever come close to those numbers.
