Stranger Things Set Photos Seemingly Spoil 2 Character’s Endings

The first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 bring viewers back to Hawkins with a lot of excitement, especially after the cliffhanger involving Will and Vecna. While our favorite characters are currently safe, some leaked set photos suggest how things might end. Though the Hawkins group made it through the first part of the season relatively unscathed, that could change when the final two volumes of Stranger Things Season 5 are released on December 25th and December 31st.

Warning: Minor spoilers ahead for Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1.

Fans are speculating about who will make it out alive when the characters face Vecna, and recent photos suggest Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Hopper (David Harbour) are likely survivors. Pictures circulating on X show the two of them sitting together on a bench, looking deep in conversation. Interestingly, Hopper is wearing his old police uniform, which has sparked a lot of questions about what’s happening.

Another photo shows Hopper leaning on a vehicle, still in his uniform, and this is where it gets intriguing. The movie theater behind him has a sign for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which was released in 1989 – two years after the first season’s events. This suggests these photos were taken near the very end of the Netflix series. That’s encouraging news for Mike and Hopper, hinting they might make it through the upcoming conflict, but it also creates new questions about what’s to come.

Stranger Things’ New Set Photos Ease Fears About Mike & Hopper, But Not Eleven

New photos from the set of Stranger Things suggest Mike and Hopper are still alive, which is exciting for fans. However, the noticeable absence of Eleven in those same photos is raising concerns. It seems odd that Mike and Hopper would be together without her, and many viewers have theorized that Eleven might have to make the ultimate sacrifice to defeat the Upside Down. These new images unfortunately don’t offer much hope for her survival.

It’s not surprising to see Mike looking sad while talking to Hopper, considering he’s likely still upset about Eleven. This could explain why they’re connecting and having a deep conversation. However, Hopper seems much happier in another picture, which doesn’t quite fit with the idea that he’s comforting a grieving Mike. Plus, because Hopper is wearing his police uniform, the photos might be hinting at a new investigation or development.

Do These Photos Hint at Time Travel in Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 2 or 3?

A popular theory about Stranger Things Season 5 suggests the show might involve time travel, and the many references to Back to the Future seem to hint at this possibility. Some fans believe Hopper’s appearance in his police uniform isn’t the end of his story, but a glimpse into a future timeline. If Mike is actually talking to a future version of Hopper, it would explain why Hopper seems so calm while Mike appears worried. This would also mean the images we’ve seen don’t reveal the characters’ ultimate fates, but rather a complicated trip through time that’s about to happen.
