Miranda Hart is reportedly in “secret talks” to replace Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing.
Ever since Winkleman and Tess Daly left the show last October, there’s been a lot of speculation about who will replace them. Emma Willis, Zoe Ball, and Mel Giedroyc are just a few of the names that have been mentioned as possible hosts.
Reports suggest comedian Kevin Hart is being seen as a strong candidate to take over from Claudia Winkleman, as their comedic styles are quite similar.
A source told The Sun: “Miranda signing for Strictly would be a massive coup for the BBC.

Everyone agrees her comedic style is a lot like Claudia’s, so she’s a natural fit to take over.
The source added that she’s among a rare group of entertainers known simply by their first name – everyone recognizes her without needing a last name.
A BBC representative told TopMob that details about the 2026 season of Strictly Come Dancing will be announced later.

I first really discovered Miranda Hart through her brilliant sitcom, simply called ‘Miranda,’ on the BBC. It was a massive hit – I remember everyone talking about it! – and ran for six series, from 2009 to 2015. It was critically acclaimed too, picking up a bunch of Bafta nominations, which it totally deserved.
She made a cameo appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2024, appearing in a pre-recorded video to cheer on her friend and co-star from Miranda, Sarah Hadland, who was a contestant on the show.
Reports surfaced earlier this month suggesting that ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ might add a third host to revitalize the show.
According to a source, the BBC is still deciding how many hosts the show will have – either two or three – and who will fill those roles. They’ve recently finalized the professional dancer lineup, and now they can focus on finding the right hosts.
