Strictly Come Dancing star Amber Davies in tears after receiving score from judges

Amber Davies, a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, broke down in tears when she and her professional partner, Nikita Kuzmin, earned a perfect score for the first time this season.

Emotions were high this week for the pair, who danced a Jive to Proud Mary by Tina Turner.

The judges loved Amber and Nikita’s performance, giving them perfect scores of 10. Amber was so moved she cried, then quickly went to prepare for the next round, the Instant Dance challenge.

Shirley Ballas was amazed by Amber’s incredible dance, especially her impressive footwork. She said she was lost for words.

Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke were impressed with the dancer’s energy levels throughout the performance, and Craig Revel Horwood simply called it “Fab-u-lous!”

Amber wasn’t the only performer to get a perfect score in week 10; Karen Carney also earned a well-deserved 40.

She and her partner, Carlos Gu, performed a Couples’ Choice routine to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” which wowed the judges and earned them a standing ovation from the audience.

Okay, so the week wasn’t perfect for everyone. I was a little surprised to see Alex Kingston, who used to be Doctor Who’s companion, get her lowest score all season – all the way back to Week 1, actually. It was a bit of a dip for her, honestly.

The excitement continued as the contestants moved on to the Instant Dance challenge. They randomly selected a dance style they’d already learned during the competition and had just 10 seconds to plan a routine, which the judges then scored.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday 6th December.
