Since its release in 2018, Subnautica has become one of the most popular survival games of the last ten years. Fans have eagerly awaited its sequel, Subnautica 2, which was first announced in 2024. The game faced some development challenges, creating uncertainty about its release. However, Unknown Worlds is now ready to launch Subnautica 2 into Early Access on May 14th, and recently shared a detailed look at the gameplay.

As a huge fan, I was so excited to watch Unknown Worlds’ preview of Subnautica 2 on YouTube on May 9th! They finally showed us a lot more of what we can expect when the game hits Early Access on PC through Steam and Xbox Game Preview next week. The best part was the new gameplay trailer – it looks like they’re building on everything that made the first Subnautica so great, but also adding a ton of fresh, new stuff to explore. I can’t wait!

We’ve seen glimpses of this new world in early trailers, but until recently, we hadn’t seen much actual gameplay footage for the highly anticipated sequel.
