Summer Game Fest 2026 is “Our Biggest” Yet, Says Geoff Keighley

Everyone is looking forward to PlayStation’s State of Play, but the Summer Game Fest is often considered the real kickoff to the summer gaming season. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, this year’s event on June 5th at 2 PM PST promises to be the biggest one yet.

There are a few ways to understand this statement. It could mean the Summer Game Fest showcase was the longest one yet, or that it featured the most brand new game reveals and announcements. It’s also possible Keighley is talking about how many people attended and the overall size of the event.

If the event focuses on announcements, we wouldn’t be shocked – if we knew what they all were! It’s likely Capcom will announce a release date for Onimusha: Way of the Sword (rumored for September) and reveal an expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds. They might even go a step further and finally announce the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica.

With Hideo Kojima expected to attend and being close to the event organizer, we might finally get some news about his horror game, OD. Plus, there’s a good chance Rockstar will release the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, possibly starting their full marketing campaign later this month. Check back this Friday for all the latest information and updates.
