Supernatural Stars Reunite for Epic Final Season of The Boys!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but get thrilled at the prospect of witnessing a remarkable reunion in the upcoming fifth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s phenomenal series, “The Boys.” Jensen Ackles, who made his mark on the show as Soldier Boy in its third season, is all set to share the screen space again with his long-term co-stars from “Supernatural,” Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. It’s fascinating to note that both these series are woven together by Eric Kripke, who initially brought “Supernatural” to life (before departing in its fifth season), and later co-developed “The Boys” alongside Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. The connection between these two captivating narratives is indeed a delightful surprise for fans!

For fifteen consecutive seasons, spanning from 2005 to 2020, Ackles and Padalecki starred in The CW’s Supernatural as brothers Dean and Sam who hunt demons. Collins entered the cast during its fourth season, playing Castiel the angel, a role he held until the series ended. In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Ackles shared that the trio have maintained a strong bond.

“We see each other more often than you would think — honestly, at least once a month.”

Ackles also opened up about what it was like reuniting with Padalecki and Collins for The Boys:

It felt unusual, similar to dining at a friend’s home instead of my own. Yet, I found myself saying, ‘Please, don’t embarrass me, I need to keep up appearances here.’ They were fantastic, and I am eagerly looking forward to discussing this peculiar encounter further as it was truly an unforgettable experience.

It remains a mystery which characters Jensen Padalecki and Erin Collins will play in the final season of “The Boys,” due to air on Prime Video in 2026. Not only them, but several other stars from “Supernatural” have joined forces with Eric Kripke once again for “The Boys.” Joining the roster are Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver (whose character Robert A. Singer is a tribute to his “Supernatural” character Bobby Singer), Rob Benedict, Christian Keyes, Adrian Holmes, Alvina August, Nathan Mitchell, and Lesley Nicol. It’s also worth mentioning that Jensen Ackles and Padalecki worked together again on “Walker,” with Ackles directing an episode featuring the former as the lead character.

Jensen Ackles Reflects on ‘Supernatural’ Legacy

The TV series “Supernatural” on The CW, which ran for 15 seasons and is their longest-running scripted program, gained its immense popularity due to the strong bond between brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, as well as its exploration of supernatural themes and mythology. This unique mix, along with its dedicated fanbase, often referred to as “SPN Family,” turned “Supernatural” into a cultural sensation. In an interview with PEOPLE, Ackles also discussed the show’s lasting impact.

As a devoted cinephile, I must confess, I never imagined this cinematic marvel would evolve into such an extraordinary phenomenon. It’s nothing short of mesmerizing! Alas, if only I could decipher the secret recipe behind its success. Frankly, I doubt there is a magic formula for that. Instead, it feels like a bolt of lightning struck the silver screen, and I am immensely proud — forever and always — to be associated with this extraordinary production.

Although the premier season finale of “The Boys” is set for 2026, Ackles isn’t finished with the Vought universe yet. He will once again take on his role as Soldier Boy in the eagerly awaited prequel series, “Vought Rising”, which delves deeper into the character’s background.

You can stream Seasons 1-4 of “The Boys” on Prime, while all seasons of “Supernatural” are available on Netflix for streaming.
