The show Supernatural is a hugely popular and well-known series, running for 15 seasons and 327 episodes. Fans are still dedicated to it even years after it ended. However, its spin-off, The Winchesters (which aired in 2022), wasn’t as successful.
Okay, so as a huge Supernatural fan, I was really excited for The Winchesters. Unfortunately, it just didn’t click. It only lasted one season before getting canceled, and the reviews were… not great. Honestly, it felt like it actually hurt the reputation of the original show, which was really disappointing to see.
I’m so relieved the new show is finally hitting the mark! After The Winchesters didn’t quite capture the magic, this one really feels like the Supernatural I fell in love with – especially those early seasons with a new monster to hunt each week. If you were missing that classic vibe, you’re going to love this!

The Winchester brothers – Sam and Dean – are back in a brand new comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment! Written by Greg Pak and featuring art by Pasquale Qualano, Vincenzo Federici, Eder Messias, and Alessandro Ranaldi, this Supernatural comic fills in the story between the first and second seasons of the popular TV show, offering fans a nostalgic return to the series’ early days.
The comic series currently has five issues out, and the sixth is scheduled for release on March 25, 2026. Fans have generally enjoyed it, praising writer Greg Pak for successfully combining familiar elements with new stories that stay true to the spirit of the original TV show.
After the generally unfavorable response to The Winchesters, this new comic is a significant success for the Supernatural franchise. While it can’t replace seeing Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki act together, the comic provides a compelling addition to the Supernatural story, particularly focusing on one of the show’s most popular periods.
