Crunchyroll has announced a lot of exciting new anime releases planned for the rest of the year, including the return of the fantasy series Sasaki and Peeps! After a two-year break, fans can expect more episodes this fall. Crunchyroll is preparing for Anime Expo 2026 in July with a wave of exclusive anime licenses that will be available throughout 2026.

The animated series Sasaki and Peeps, based on the work by Buncololi and Kantoku, originally premiered in 2024. While it wasn’t clear if more episodes would be made, a second season has now been officially announced and will arrive this October! Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 Drops First Look at October 2026 Premiere

The second season of Sasaki and Peeps is set to premiere in October 2026 as part of the Fall anime lineup. Fans in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS will be able to watch the new episodes exclusively on Crunchyroll. There have been some changes in production; Yushi Ibe is now directing the season, with Yamato Ouchi as assistant director at Silver Link.

Kazunori Ozawa will direct the action, with Saori Nakashiki designing the characters and Tsutomu Ogasawara leading the 3D animation. Deko Akao is in charge of the scripts, and Koji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki will compose the music. The original voice actors are also returning, including Tomokazu Sugita as Sasaki, Aoi Yuki as Pii-chan, Akari Kito as Otonari-san, Rie Takahashi as Hoshizaki, Naomi Ozora as Shizuka Futari, and Miyu Tomita as Elsa, with more cast members to be announced.

You might have missed it when it first came out, but Sasaki and Peeps is a charming show that’s been quietly gaining fans. It centers around Sasaki, an unfulfilled office worker who buys a bird as a companion. He soon discovers this isn’t just any bird—it’s actually a very powerful mage from another world!
