To mark the anime announcement, Marriagetoxin has released a new trailer and poster, giving fans their first glimpse of the series in animated form. You can watch it below.
Marriagetoxin Announces New Anime Coming in 2026
Marriagetoxin is scheduled to debut in 2026, with more details coming after a countdown. However, a specific release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Motonobu Hori will direct the anime at Bones Film, the studio known for works like Gachiakuta, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and others. Kimiko Ueno is writing the scripts, Kohei Tokuoka will be the chief animation director, and Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi are composing the music. The main characters, Hikaru Gero and Mei Kinosaki, will be voiced by Haruki Ishiya and Shion Wakayama, respectively.
Here’s what you can look forward to in Marriagetoxin. The anime is being promoted with a description that reads: “For generations, skilled practitioners have honed dangerous techniques. The Poison Masters of the Five Great Families are the most powerful and influential among them. Hikaru Gero, the heir to the Gero Family’s Poison Mastery, has always lived a life hidden from the world, knowing nothing of love or marriage. However, when the head of the Gero Family decides that Hikaru’s sister must have a child to continue the family line-even if it means using force-Hikaru is determined to protect her no matter what.”
Why You Should Watch Marriagetoxin
The summary for Marriagetoxin goes on to explain that Hikaru meets Mei Kinosaki, a skilled con artist specializing in marriages, who becomes the focus of his new assignment. Hikaru understands that marrying someone is the only way to resolve a family inheritance issue and safeguard his sister, so he spontaneously asks Mei to assist him in finding a suitable wife. The story’s captivating nature is what will likely attract the most viewers.
