SZA Slams Rumor She’s Set to Fill in for Justin Bieber at Coachella

SZA is hitting snooze on rumors she’s expected to fill in at Coachella 2026.

SZA, the singer of “Good Days,” denied rumors that she was secretly hired as a backup performer for the music festival in case Justin Bieber couldn’t perform. Bieber is a headliner at the festival, along with Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G.

SZA, whose full name is Solána Imani Rowe, jokingly commented on an Instagram post from April 10th about potentially filling in for Justin Bieber if he didn’t perform on April 11th and 18th. She wrote, “Lmao who made this up?” and added, “I’ve seen this rumor going around four times now. I’m in New York and haven’t been offered any money. Wishing everyone the best.”

A recent post on Blind Items and Music Life showed a photo of SZA with a headline claiming she reportedly spent a large sum of money – over $100,000 – to stay prepared for Coachella, in case Justin Bieber cancelled his performance.

Despite SZA dismissing rumors about a collaboration with Justin Bieber – even after they recorded an acoustic version of her 2022 song “Snooze” together – many fans still hoped she would appear on stage during his performance.

Okay, seriously, does everyone forget that Bieber is actually IN one of her music videos?! It’s totally possible she’ll just show up on his set now, I’m telling you! And another fan basically begged her – like, “SZA, please, we NEED to see this happen!” I’m losing it, this collab HAS to happen!

While it’s still unclear if Justin will have any special guests during his performance, he’s already given fans a hint of what to expect from his show.

He mentioned on a Twitch stream last October that he plans to work on both of his ‘SWAG’ projects. He wants to incorporate some older songs into the new work and perform these songs live for the very first time, combining everything in a single performance.

The artist, known as “Yukon,” was a little worried about touring, but he said on his livestream that he felt safe and comfortable at Coachella, describing it as a place that “soothes the soul.”

Although Justin Bieber hasn’t performed as the main act at Coachella yet, excitement among fans is already building. Adding to the anticipation, Kylie Jenner showcased some outfits inspired by Justin before he even took the stage.

Kourtney Kardashian made a statement as she arrived at the desert festival wearing a large tank top with Justin Bieber’s face on it. She also showed off a floral nail design inspired by Bieber’s 2025 song “Daisies,” playfully calling it “Bieberchella” on her Instagram Stories.
