Bandai Namco revealed during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation that Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition is headed to the Nintendo Switch 2. A trailer showcasing the game was also released (see it below!). This edition bundles together the original Tales of Arise game and its Beyond the Dawn expansion, which first came out in 2023. Players can expect it on Nintendo Switch 2 starting May 21st.
Tales of Arise is a sprawling fantasy RPG and the newest installment in the long-running Tales series. Released in 2021, the game follows Alphen and Shionne as they team up with companions to uncover the secrets of Rena and its rule over Dahna.
Tales of Arise was a big hit with both critics and players. We awarded it an 8/10 in our review, praising its compelling story, interesting characters, and exciting, action-packed battles. By 2024, Bandai Namco announced that the game had sold over 3 million copies globally.
Bandai Namco recently celebrated the second anniversary of their game with the release of the Beyond the Dawn expansion. Set a year after the original game’s story, Beyond the Dawn brings the heroes back together to uncover the mystery surrounding Nazamil, a child born to parents from two different worlds – a Renan Lord and a Dahnan.
Although a new Tales game hasn’t been revealed yet, you can still enjoy Tales of Arise and its Beyond the Dawn expansion on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
