Task Time now available in Early Access

The multiplayer party game Task Time is now available on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Publisher Wired Productions and developer ReadGraves announced that it’s free to play for the first 48 hours as a launch celebration.

When the game enters Early Access, it will include a special crossover event. Players will be able to unlock a “Bing Bong” character skin to customize their in-game appearance.

Wired Productions wanted the launch of their new game, Task Time, to reflect its chaotic nature. According to co-founder Leo Zullo, they decided against a typical release and instead launched it unexpectedly, making it free to play for 48 hours. This approach, he explained, encourages players to quickly jump in, team up with friends, and enjoy the game’s intentionally disruptive fun.

Sam Read-Graves, the creator of ReadGraves, explained that players should lean into the game’s quirks and imperfections. He admits they haven’t tried to fix them, and believes the game is most enjoyable when players accept and work with its unique style.

Here is an overview of the game, via Wired Productions:

Task Time is a competitive party game for up to eight players, inspired by game shows. Players compete in six chaotic and unpredictable rounds, using physics-based challenges to climb the leaderboard and win. Made by some of the creators of Gang Beasts and Fall Guys, it’s designed for fun with friends.

Dive into chaotic fun and complete crazy challenges! You can shrink your friends, take everything they own, and even watch them tumble into lava. Winning isn’t guaranteed, but at least there are no real-world repercussions. And don’t expect things to be fair—that’s what makes it exciting!

Task Time is simple to learn but difficult to truly become skilled at, and it’s incredibly enjoyable! Featuring over half a million unique, randomly generated tasks, every game feels different. That means anyone, even if they’re not very coordinated, has a chance to make an amazing turnaround.

No matter if you like to playfully mess with others, focus on being the last one standing, or just cause a little chaos, Task Time is guaranteed to be a funny game that will challenge your friendships – and possibly your patience!
