Taskmaster season 22 line-up officially confirmed – including Doctor Who and Peep Show stars

There’s a new Taskmaster cast in town!

Tonight’s episode of the popular comedy game show wrapped up, and Channel 4 announced the new group of comedians who will be facing the challenging tasks set by Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne.

And now, let’s reveal the contestants for Taskmaster series 22: Chloe Petts, Isy Suttie, Matt Lucas, Nina Conti, and Richard Ayoade.

Petts is a comedian known for performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and appearing on TV shows like Have I Got News for You? and The Last Leg. They also recently starred in the escape room series, The Way Out, alongside Dave Lamb.

Isla Lyall Suttie is a name comedy fans definitely recognize, mostly for her absolutely brilliant turn as Dobby in Peep Show. But she’s far more than just that iconic character! I’ve seen her pop up in a bunch of other great shows – she was hilarious in Greg Davies’ Man Down, and had roles in Shameless and Skins. What’s really cool is she wasn’t just in Skins, she actually helped write it too – proving she’s a talent on both sides of the camera.

Matt Lucas first became well-known for his work on the comedy show Shooting Stars with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. He later co-created the hugely popular Little Britain with David Walliams, went on to host The Great British Bake Off, and played the character Nardole during Peter Capaldi’s time as Doctor Who.

Nina Conti is a comedian known for her unique stand-up routines featuring ventriloquism, particularly with her puppet Monkey and the use of audience masks. Beyond performing, she also directed the documentary Her Master’s Voice and wrote and directed the 2025 romantic comedy Sunlight.

Matt Berry is known for his work on shows like Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, The IT Crowd, and Last One Laughing UK. He’s also hosted several popular programs including Gadget Man, Travel Man, The Crystal Maze, and the BAFTA TV Awards. Plus, he frequently appears as a guest on panel shows such as Have I Got News for You, Big Fat Quiz, and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Many contestants have tried to win over the Taskmaster, but only one will receive Alex Horne’s golden head trophy.

Season 22 of Taskmaster doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s likely to be broadcast on Channel 4 later in 2024. It will also be available internationally on YouTube.

Alex Horne recently revealed to TopMob that a future season of Taskmaster will feature its first-ever Oscar winner as a contestant. He also hinted at potential changes to the show’s format in the future.

“ People ask us about adding a Champion of Champion of Champions,” he told us earlier this year.

We’re planning something new and interesting soon. It’s not a major overhaul, just a few changes, but I can’t share any details just yet. Let’s just say we have a surprise in the works.
