Taylor Frankie Paul has been going through it.
Before her season of The Bachelorette was unexpectedly cut short on March 19th, the 31-year-old shared a difficult experience from her time on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, revealing it almost made her quit reality TV for good.
Taylor recently told Vulture magazine that she had a breakdown while filming and immediately stopped working. Despite being under contract, she explained, ‘This isn’t acting. I’m actually having a breakdown and I’m going home,’ and refused to continue.
TopMob has reached out to Hulu for comment but has not heard back.
Taylor was incredibly busy around the time of the interview. She was simultaneously filming and promoting both The Bachelorette and Mormon Wives, and the demanding schedule was really taking a toll on her.
Taylor explained she’s feeling incredibly overwhelmed, like she can’t breathe. She said the emotional strain has finally hit her, and she realizes she’s been so busy that she hasn’t allowed herself to deal with painful experiences.
Despite everything, Taylor said she actually felt healthier while looking for love on The Bachelorette.
Taylor, who has three children with two different fathers – Tate Paul and Dakota Mortensen – explained that being away from home felt like a break from constant stress. She said she’s usually just trying to survive each day when she is at home.
Although recent difficulties at work made her consider leaving television, she confessed she wasn’t ready to make a final decision just yet. She described herself as someone who doesn’t give up easily.
Filming for the fifth season of Mormon Wives was put on hold a few weeks after an interview with Taylor for a Vulture article. This pause came after Utah authorities confirmed they were looking into a reported physical altercation between Taylor and Dakota that happened in late February.

After TMZ released a video showing a domestic dispute between Taylor and Dakota from 2023, the premiere of her season of The Bachelorette, originally scheduled for March 22nd, was delayed. Taylor later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault related to the incident and is currently on probation until August.
After delaying her appearance on The Bachelor, her representative released a statement on March 19th saying she appreciated the support from ABC during this challenging period.
Taylor is now finding the courage to confront the person who abused her both mentally and physically, and to protect herself and her children from future harm. For years, she endured this abuse in silence, while also living in fear of what the abuser might do.
Taylor’s representative stated she had remained quiet about the abuse she experienced due to fear of additional harm, getting back at her, and public embarrassment. They added that she is now considering her next steps, getting help, and getting ready to tell her side of the story. Dakota, in a statement to TopMob News on March 19, said he’s familiar with these kinds of false accusations and strongly denies them.
