Taylor Swiftgave her family a warm welcome to New York.
Taylor Swift, age 36, enjoyed a family dinner at The Eighty Six steakhouse in New York City’s West Village on May 11th. She was joined by her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift, and her brother, Austin.
The Grammy-winning artist sparkled in a short, black sequined dress by Valentino, paired with an Aupen Purpose handbag and silver heels. She completed the look with her trademark red lipstick.
She arrived at the restaurant with her mother, Andrea. Andrea was wearing a stylish black outfit and had let her blonde hair down.
Taylor Swift often returns to the West Village, where she used to live on Cornelia Street. She now lives in Tribeca, which isn’t far from the restaurant she frequents.
Although her fiancé, Travis Kelce, wasn’t at dinner with Taylor’s family, she and Travis haven’t been separated for long. They both attended the wedding of Travis’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate, George Karlaftis, and Kaia Harris, which took place in Greece on May 9th.
After the wedding, George told People magazine how happy he was with their friends and guests. He said everyone had a great time getting to know each other and dancing, and he couldn’t have imagined a better celebration.

With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce planning their wedding, everyone is curious about the details. While they’ve been private about it, Taylor has offered a few clues about what the celebration might be like.

Oh my gosh, she said it! She was on Graham Norton last October and just gushed about the wedding! She said she’s so excited, and honestly, same! But what really got me was when she explained why she thinks it won’t be stressful. Apparently, she believes the only weddings that are a nightmare are the ones where they’re super worried about the guest list – you know, trying to decide who really needs to be there. If you’ve got enough space, everyone’s happy! It just makes so much sense, and it’s such a relief to hear she’s already thinking about keeping things relaxed and fun. I’m living for this wedding already!

Taylor Swift is a talented songwriter who writes all of her own music. However, her album Speak Now is particularly special because she wrote it completely on her own, without any collaborators. Released in October 2010, she was only 20 years old at the time.
She spent her childhood on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania with her family, and that experience inspired her holiday song of the same name.
3. She’s named after James Taylor. That’s right, from one music legend to another.

Taylor Swift, like Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Roberts, and Ashton Kutcher, used to work as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch. She modeled for the company back in 2003.
Taylor Swift gave Eric Church his first gold record as a thank you for supporting her early in her career. Back in 2006, she joined Rascal Flatts on tour after Church had been let go. Church recalled that Swift reached out to him after reading about his dismissal, telling him she admired his work. He playfully predicted she’d owe him a gold record if she became successful, and to his surprise, she actually sent him one when she achieved that milestone. It came with a handwritten note thanking him for his energetic performance on the Rascal Flatts tour.

I’ve always been fascinated by Taylor’s little quirks! I remember watching her 73 Questions video with Vogue back in 2016, and they asked her about any unusual talents. She was so funny and self-deprecating, saying the only thing she could do was that she has double-jointed elbows – she admitted it wasn’t really a talent, but it was the one thing she could show off!
7. Her drink of choice? Vodka and Diet Coke, as revealed in that same Vogue video.
Taylor Swift disabled comments on her social media posts to reduce negativity and self-doubt. In an essay for Elle magazine, she explained that while social media can be positive, it often exposes people to comparisons that trigger insecurity. To combat this, she turns off comments, allowing her to share updates with fans without seeking their approval or worrying about external validation. She wants to train herself to not rely on others telling her she looks good.

Taylor Swift initially considered calling her seventh album Daylight, but she ultimately chose Lover. She felt Daylight was too obvious, given that the album came after reputation. After writing the song “Lover,” she decided it would be the perfect title for the album instead.
Taylor Swift made history as the youngest solo artist to ever win Album of the Year. She was only 20 years old when she received the award in 2010 for her popular album, Fearless.

Taylor Swift made Grammy history in 2024 by becoming the first woman to win Album of the Year four times. She received the award for her albums Fearless, 1989, Folklore, and Midnights.
Taylor Swift’s album, Lover, quickly became a huge success, selling over a million copies in the U.S. within its first few months. According to Chart Data, it was the first album of 2019 to achieve this impressive sales milestone.

Taylor Swift made history at the 2019 American Music Awards by winning more awards than any other artist, breaking Michael Jackson’s previous record.
When Taylor was growing up, she dreamed of becoming a stockbroker, following in her father’s footsteps. However, she discovered her passion for music and, with her family, moved from Pennsylvania to Tennessee to pursue it.
She started playing guitar at about 12 years old, picking it up after a computer technician showed her a few basic chords. Inspired, she soon wrote her first song, called “Lucky You.”

Taylor Swift is a big fan of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She told Entertainment Weekly that Waller-Bridge’s show, Fleabag, is brilliant because it’s funny, surprising, and emotionally moving all at once. Interestingly, Taylor later appeared on Saturday Night Live during an episode hosted by the Fleabag star!
In 2009, Taylor Swift did something unusual for a guest on Saturday Night Live: she wrote her own monologue. Her performance, including the song “Monologue Song (La La La),” clearly made a strong impression on the show’s team.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been close friends ever since they both dated members of the Jonas Brothers. Back in 2008, Taylor dated Joe Jonas, and Selena dated his brother, Nick. They quickly bonded and have stayed very close ever since. Selena even asked Taylor to be a flower girl at her wedding to Benny Blanco, and Taylor happily agreed. Notably, Selena publicly supported Taylor when she returned to SNL in November 2021 to perform her 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”

Do you remember Abigail, the redhead Taylor Swift mentions in her song “Fifteen”? They’re still close friends! Abigail Anderson was actually a bridesmaid at her wedding back in 2017.
She’s a godmother to several children of her close friends, including Jaime King’s son Leo Thames, and the daughters of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds – James, Inez, and Betty.

Taylor Swift has indicated she might not ever perform her song “Soon You’ll Get Better,” which she wrote about her mother’s fight with cancer. She explained in a SiriusXM Town Hall in August 2019 that the song was difficult to create, sing, and even listen to, acknowledging that some songs are simply emotionally challenging.
Taylor Swift doesn’t have the X app (formerly Twitter) on her phone. In an interview with Billboard, she explained that she often feels overwhelmed when using the platform and quickly closes it. She’s avoided having the app on her phone for a while because she prefers to limit her news intake, focusing only on politics and avoiding celebrity gossip and trivial details. She feels her brain has a limited capacity for information.

Taylor Swift has never tried therapy, instead confiding in her mother. In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that her mom has witnessed her entire life, making it easier to share everything with her. She joked about how long it would take someone else to get up to speed on her life story.

In an interview, she revealed her favorite lyrics from her album Lover are: “Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? / With every guitar string scar on my hand/I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover.”
Taylor Swift has officially become a billionaire! A Bloomberg report from October 2024 credits her incredibly successful Eras Tour with pushing her over the billion-dollar mark, after years of breaking records in the music industry.
Taylor Swift was deeply moved by the 2019 Netflix film, Someone Great. She described crying while watching it and then having vivid dreams for about a week where she was living through the movie’s events. These emotional reactions sparked lyrical ideas, and she collaborated with Jack Antonoff in the studio, ultimately resulting in her song “Death By a Thousand Cuts.” She shared this inspiration during an interview with Elvis Duran.
She consistently places her most heartfelt songs—like “All Too Well” and “The Archer”—as the fifth track on her albums, making it a signature spot for her ballads.
Oh my gosh, she’s finally embracing being seen! It’s amazing! Ever since 2023, she’s been cheering on Travis at all his games, and she just seems so happy and free! She actually told Time magazine that being public means they get to support each other doing what they love, and they honestly don’t even care who’s watching. She said they refuse to hide or go to crazy lengths to keep their relationship secret – they’re just proud to be together, and it’s the cutest thing ever!

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement announcement on Instagram in August 2025 went viral, becoming a historic moment for the platform. According to Billboard, citing data from Meta, the post received over a million shares.
30. The engagement also helped inspire Cambridge Dictionary’s 2025 word of the year, “Parasocial.”
Okay, so like, Taylor completely broke the internet with her album, The Life of a Showgirl! It came out on October 2025, and I still can’t believe it – 2.7 million copies sold on the very first day! The Associated Press reported it, so it’s official. I mean, seriously, is anything she does not turn to gold? I was one of the first to grab my copy, obviously, and it’s just…everything. It’s history in the making, and I’m so proud to be a fan!
32. Oh, and the album went on to sell 4 million copies in its first week alone.

In her Disney+ documentary, The End of an Era, Taylor Swift explained that two things inspired her to create The Eras Tour: losing control of the rights to her older songs (her “masters”) and the COVID-19 pandemic.
After a lengthy legal fight, Taylor announced in May 2025 that she had regained ownership of the original recordings of her first six albums.
Taylor Swift revealed on The Stephen Colbert Show on December 10th that she used the money earned from her Eras Tour to regain ownership of her music, explaining, “My fans are the reason I was able to do that.”
To keep surprise songs a secret during the Eras Tour, Taylor and her band practiced them discreetly, away from the sound of fans outside the venues.
Taylor Swift gave bonuses to her tour crew after each leg of the Eras Tour, as revealed in her documentary.
