Taylor Swift Is Travis Kelce’s No. 1 Fan at Chiefs vs. Colts Game

Taylor Swift is always there to see Travis Kelce be the toast of the town. 

Taylor Swift went to the Kansas City Chiefs game on November 23rd to watch her fiancé’s team win against the Indianapolis Colts with a score of 23-20.

Taylor Swift attended Travis Kelce’s game, hoping to bring some good luck to his team. She watched from a VIP suite, keeping to herself for the most part, but briefly came into view of the fans at Arrowhead Stadium. A video posted online showed Taylor, wearing a beige, red, and white jacket, excitedly celebrating a good play. She jumped up and down and hugged her dad, Scott Swift, in her excitement.

During Travis’s 13th season in the NFL, Taylor hasn’t been as visible at games as she used to be, but she’s still been a supportive presence. Last month, she cheered on Travis’s team as they defeated the Raiders and then joined the celebration at 1587 Prime, the Kansas City steakhouse owned by Travis and teammate Patrick Mahomes.

Travis has also shown his support in a playful way during games. After scoring a touchdown last month against the Washington Commanders, he copied some of Taylor Swift’s dance moves from her “Fate of Ophelia” music video, mirroring her arm movements to the lyrics, “I pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes.”

Although Taylor isn’t publicly displaying her football enthusiasm as much as she used to, she’s made it known that she always supports her boyfriend on the Chiefs and is a big fan of the game itself.

She jokingly described herself as running around her house yelling about the Chiefs drafting Xavier Worthy, as she shared on the August 13th episode of the New Heights podcast. She said her friends were shocked and asked what had gotten into her.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big Taylor Swift fan, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at the concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy getting ready for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a bit upset Taylor Swift didn’t chat with fans before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Following his now-famous story about a dropped pass – which Taylor Swift later called incredibly cool – Travis Kelce decided to take a chance and invited the award-winning singer to a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d seen her perform at Arrowhead Stadium and she should come see him perform there too, to see whose concert is more exciting. He hopes to find out if she’ll take him up on it soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, when he met Taylor.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor Swift accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play against the Chicago Bears. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how close they were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the fun with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform as part of her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and enthusiastically kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that she and her partner are comfortable being seen together and supporting each other, even if others disapprove. It’s a stark contrast, she explained, to situations where people go to great lengths to keep a relationship secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family, spending time with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and told each other ‘I love you’.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

On February 12th, Taylor shared a video of Travis on social media, playfully showing how she brought her parents to a club with him after the Super Bowl.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the weekend before 2025, and they happened to wear matching outfits on both occasions.

The couple spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sports reporter Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the first photos of him and Taylor on Instagram. One cute picture, taken during dinner, also showed what photos they had set as their phone lockscreens – they were pictures of each other!

Taylor Swift, a self-proclaimed big fan of the New Heights podcast, appeared on an almost two-hour-long special episode with Travis and Jason Kelce on August 13th. During the conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced the title of her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment fans quickly noticed – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
