Taylor Swift has an excellent father, whose strength makes her stronger.
When it came time for her to assist Scott Swift during his open-heart surgery, she stood by him every step of the way.
On July 16, TMZ received confirmation from Taylor Swift’s representative that Taylor’s father, aged 73, had undergone quintuple bypass surgery about a month prior. Taylor’s wife Andrea Swift, along with Taylor and their son Austin Swift, were by his side throughout the surgery and recovery period. The rep also clarified that the surgery wasn’t prompted by a heart attack; instead, Taylor’s doctor discovered an issue during a routine check-up that necessitated the procedure.
His recovery is going well and he’s feeling great, her rep also confirmed to the outlet.
Scott’s coronary bypass surgery involved establishing alternative routes for blood circulation around a clogged or partially obstructed heart artery, as explained by the Mayo Clinic. In Scott’s operation specifically, they created five new channels for blood flow.
TopMob News has reached out to Taylor’s rep for comment but has not yet heard back.
It’s well-known that Taylor and her father share a strong bond. Not only did the elder figure often attend her Eras Tour, but he even accompanied her to numerous Kansas City Chiefs games to support their boyfriend, Travis Kelce, whom she started dating in 2023.
Moreover, although Scott seldom discusses his personal life with his daughter publicly, he divulged some sentiments regarding her romantic involvement with his fellow traveler during a journey in October.
The fortunate explorer expressed, on October 29 via TikTok, that he discussed the depth of his affection for his daughter Travis, which was adorable. Interestingly, he didn’t mention anything about Travis himself; instead, he was ecstatically talking about her achievements and the pride he feels for every aspect of her life.
Taylor, who is also known as such, revealed the manner in which she and Scott first started talking about his well-known relatives.
She acknowledged that indeed, I had asked, “Are you Taylor’s dad?” to which he responded affirmatively. And as he did so, he pulled out guitar picks from his pocket and said, “Yes, I am.”
Or in a more conversational tone:
She admitted that she had asked if he was Taylor’s father, and he confirmed it by handing her guitar picks and saying, “Yes, I am.
During most of the flight, the two engaged in conversation, discussing Scott’s hectic timetable, his daughter’s performances, and keeping up with Travis’ games. Above all, it was mentioned that he frequently expressed his immense pride in his Grammy-winning daughter.
The TikToker commented, “He’s quite chatty and the kindest soul in our universe.” He didn’t need any prodding from me, and he freely shared his immense pride for Taylor.

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber had a terrifying incident during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber. She started experiencing symptoms similar to a stroke, such as speech impairment and facial drooping. Fortunately, these symptoms subsided quickly, but Hailey decided to visit the hospital for a check-up.
The doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles, revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had passed through this hole and reached her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling well. She shared her experience on YouTube a month later, explaining how Justin noticed something was wrong and encouraged her to seek medical help.
In the same year when Hailey went through her health crisis, Justin also encountered a similar ordeal. Specifically, in June 2022, Justin Bieber revealed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition which affected facial mobility due to temporary paralysis of certain muscles. This diagnosis resulted in the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour.
Justin explained on Instagram that this virus targeted nerves in his ear and face, leading to facial paralysis. He stated that he could not blink one eye, smile on one side of his face, or move one nostril. As a result, his entire face was paralyzed on one side. He also mentioned that eating became increasingly difficult during this period. However, the paralysis eventually subsided.

A doctor initially examined him and administered a cortisone injection, then sent him home. Concerned, his sister Deidra Dixon drove him to another hospital where they discovered the cause: a brain hemorrhage that led to a stroke. After undergoing surgery on April 24th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I needed every one of them.
Emilia Clarke, famously known for her role in Game of Thrones, filmed intense battle scenes. However, in 2019, she penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” for The New Yorker. In the piece, she recounted a severe headache at the gym that led to vomiting and worsening pain. She suspected her brain was injured.
Rushed to the hospital for a scan, she received a grim diagnosis: subarachnoid hemorrhage, a potentially fatal type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. The actress had an aneurysm, or arterial rupture.
The immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm was agonizing. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, speaking incoherently. A week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital a month after admission.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, requiring another surgery. Upon waking from the operation, she was in agony. The procedure had failed, and her survival chances were slim if they didn’t operate again. This time, they accessed her brain through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia shared that she is now completely recovered.

She explained, “I could have gone home after my stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing well, and my kidneys were failing.” Today, she is recovering well, stating, “I’m doing great. She recounted on the September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast that her hearing began to deteriorate, walking even short distances left her needing long periods of rest, and everything she ate upset her stomach. The actress explained that a variety of medical professionals gave her different diagnoses, creating confusion about her condition.
To seek answers, Shailene—who has a background in holistic medicine and herbalism—decided to consult both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This was a decade-long quest for comfort within her own body.
During this prolonged journey, other issues emerged from the physical discomfort she experienced. “I suddenly developed a fear of food,” Shailene explained, “which led me into mental turmoil related to body dysmorphia, confusion about my identity, and feelings of insecurity about my own body and what it should look like.”
After addressing both her physical and mental health concerns, Shailene is now feeling much improved. She shared that her health issues eventually resolved themselves, leaving her healthy and happy.
