Teen Titans GO Star Shockingly Says They’ve Been Fired By Warner Bros.

A notable actor from the series Teen Titans GO! allegedly announced their unexpected dismissal by Warner Bros., following their public disclosure of a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis. The animated series, Teen Titans, has been one of Warner Bros.’ most successful ventures in animation, with its initial release in 2003 garnering significant fan support. The success continued with the debut of the reboot, Teen Titans GO!, which has spanned over 400 episodes (and a movie) for more than a decade. Notably, this version of the franchise features many of the same voice actors from its 2003 iteration.

Greg Cipes, who’s been part of the franchise since its 2003 launch, announced earlier this year that he has Parkinson’s Disease. However, a social media post suggesting he was let go from the series by gunnverse on Instagram went viral. Cipes alleges that Warner Bros. terminated him following his diagnosis disclosure, stating, “Warner Brothers actually fired me on Valentine’s Day, right after I made my Parkinson’s diagnosis public.

Beast Boy Star Greg Cipes Claims He Was Fired By Warner Bros.

Ciples didn’t just post his comment about being let go from the “Teen Titans Go!” animated franchise on gunnverse’s initial Instagram report, but also expressed his feelings by saying, “It feels like a death that only the fans can resurrect.” According to The Wrap, however, sources close to the situation suggest there may be another side to the story. Namely, Ciples was not fired from the series, but was dismissed because his acting skills as Beast Boy didn’t meet the producers’ required level of performance.

According to The Wrap’s reports, it was initially suggested by Warner Bros. that Cipes take on a different role due to performance issues. They proposed creating a new character for him and were in discussions with his agent about a development deal to continue working together in the franchise. The source also mentions that while negotiations for this development deal are ongoing, Cipes has already recorded some scripts featuring this new character.

What Will Happen to Beast Boy?

Giancarlo Cipes not only provided the voice for Beast Boy in “Teen Titans” and “Teen Titans Go!”, but he essentially became the defining voice of the character throughout the 2000s and beyond, with additional roles in series such as “Young Justice” and “Beast Boy: Lone Wolf”. It’s very possible that when fans of DC animation envision the character, they visualize Cipes’ voice. However, a complex situation may arise before it improves, as Cipes has alleged he was fired from the series. Furthermore, there appear to be other legal matters and complications that need resolution for the future of “Teen Titans GO!”.

It appears that Warner Bros. might be planning to introduce a new actor for Beast Boy in their upcoming projects, however, they have not yet revealed who it will be. As of now, there has been no official comment from Warner Bros. regarding this matter, leaving many questions unanswered about the future of the Teen Titans Go! franchise. If the series does continue, it’s possible that a new voice actor will take over, emulating Cipes’ style as seen in other similar recasts like Rick and Morty.
