Teyana Taylor has one battle after another when it comes to her schedule.
Despite attending the 2026 Golden Globes with hopes of winning Best Supporting Actress for her role in One Battle After Another, she still needs to complete assignments for her cooking classes.
Teyana, who started at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in July, will have a break after the 83rd annual ceremony, hosted by Nikki Glaser, because her teachers are giving her some time off. (You can find a list of all the winners here.)
She revealed on LIVE from TopMob: Golden Globes that she has a deadline this Tuesday for an assignment. Luckily, her chef granted her an extension until Thursday, and her school has been very understanding and supportive.
Teyana typically finishes her projects ahead of schedule, but preparing for the Golden Globes, so soon after being nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, unfortunately took priority and she wasn’t able to complete everything as planned.
I told the chef directly that I wouldn’t be able to do it, she remembered. It was becoming clear I was leading a double life. I explained I’d need until Thursday to get everything done. Maintaining my good grades as a straight-A student was important to me, and I didn’t want to offer any flimsy reasons for needing extra time.
I’ve been following Teyana Taylor for a while now, and even though she’s been incredibly busy with awards shows after starring in a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, she’s determined to finish her semester! It’s amazing to me – she’s a mom to Junie, who’s 10, and Rue Rose, who’s 5, with her ex, Iman Shumpert, and still manages to prioritize her education despite everything.
“I really don’t want to deal with all of that,” she said. “Just give me two more days. I’ll be home on Monday and should be able to finish it by Tuesday. I just need that extra time so I don’t get stressed out.”
