The forthcoming Spawn movie, tentatively named “King Spawn,” has been in development for quite some time, with Jamie Foxx set to appear as the lead actor. Around a year ago, Todd McFarlane gave an update on the film to Comicbook, suggesting substantial advancements were underway, but since then there’s been no news. However, fans are in luck as they will soon receive a 4K Blu-ray/Dolby Vision restoration of the original 1997 Spawn movie from Arrow Video, complete with numerous extra features. All essential details can be found here.
The pre-selling for Arrow Video’s 4K Blu-ray and regular Blu-ray versions of the 1997 Spawn movie on Amazon is about to start any second, scheduled for release on October 7th. For a comprehensive overview of the numerous special features, please see below. Michael Jai White plays Al Simmons, an elite Black Ops operative known for his relentless efficiency and unwavering loyalty. However, he is betrayed and killed by his superior officer, Jason Wynn (Martin Sheen). But rather than meeting his end, Al is resurrected by the devil Malebolgia and transforms into Spawn, a demonic vigilante with immense powers. Balancing between Earth and the Underworld, Spawn seeks vengeance against Wynn and must decide whether to serve his new demonic overlords or strive for the redemption of his eternal spirit.
