Since it first aired, The Bear has gone from a tense show about restaurant life to a major part of pop culture. It’s consistently broken Hulu’s viewing records and won numerous Emmy Awards, establishing itself as a critically and commercially successful series for FX. Because of this success, the show was renewed for a fifth season. Many viewers expected this new season to be the last, considering the intense emotional storylines. However, FX kept its plans quiet, leaving the show’s future uncertain—until a key actress revealed the ending.
I was so thrilled to see Jamie Lee Curtis post a picture from the set of The Bear! It seems like they’ve wrapped filming, and it’s officially the final season. She mentioned being surrounded by an incredible team – the writers, producers, and everyone involved in bringing this amazing family’s story to life. She later confirmed it in an interview with Access Hollywood, seeming a little surprised by the reaction! She basically said everyone already knew it was the last season, and she’d be surprised if anyone came to her saying she shouldn’t have mentioned it. Honestly, while I’m sad it’s ending, I’m so grateful for the journey and can’t wait to see how it all wraps up!
It’s a Good Thing The Bear Is Coming to an End (Seriously)

Though it’s disappointing to see a show like The Bear end, finishing with Season 5 is a smart decision. The show started to lose some of its appeal with fans and critics in Seasons 3 and 4. The storylines felt repetitive, with characters getting stuck in the same stressful situations without really developing. Instead of letting the characters deal with their past issues, the show kept adding new problems just to keep the tension high. By ending the series now, creator Christopher Storer can move beyond constant restaurant drama and give the whole team a satisfying conclusion.
The recent finale of The Bear’s fourth season successfully sets up what’s to come in future episodes. By having Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) decide to leave the restaurant world, the show’s writers demonstrate a willingness to move beyond the repeating, harmful cycles of the past. We also see Carmy working to rebuild his relationship with his mother, Donna Berzatto (Lee Curtis), suggesting he’s beginning to heal emotionally. This creates a great setup for a finale that can both celebrate the show’s impact and allow its characters to finally find some resolution to their struggles—which is really what viewers want from a high-quality television series. Stretching the show out just to make more money would go against everything it stands for, as it would keep the characters stuck in a never-ending cycle of turmoil.
The Bear Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on Hulu later in 2026.
