Following the cliffhanger ending of the 2025 Netflix thriller The Hunting Wives, The Beast In Me offers a satisfying resolution for Brittany Snow’s character. While The Beast In Me boasts a strong cast including Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, Brittany Snow truly shines as Nina and steals the show.
In “The Beast In Me,” author Aggie, still grieving a recent loss, becomes fixated on her new neighbor, Rhys, and his controversial business partner, Niles. Niles’ first wife vanished a year ago, and though the case remains open, Aggie is convinced he was responsible and used his powerful family to hide the truth.
Niles surprisingly agrees to let Aggie write a book about him, hoping to set the record straight and restore his reputation. However, by the end of The Beast In Me, his name remains clouded, though a surprising hero emerges from the dark tale of his downfall, filled with corruption, crime, and lies.

The final episode of The Beast In Me reveals the fate of several key characters: Niles’ wife, Maddie; FBI Agent Abbott; and Teddy, the driver responsible for the accidental death of Aggie’s son. It’s revealed that Niles was behind their deaths, all because of information provided by his assistant, Nina.
It’s just… unbelievable how much happened so quickly. A year before everything came crashing down, Nina told me that my wife, Maddie, was secretly working with the FBI, trying to expose my crimes. I… I had to do what I had to do to protect myself, and Maddie ended up dead. But I managed to play it cool with Nina, convincing her I had nothing to do with it. And then… well, then we started dating. It didn’t take long, and soon Nina was pregnant with my baby. The whole thing is just messed up.
Niles arranged for Abbott’s murder to prevent him from revealing his relationship with Aggie’s daughter, Maddie. This, however, made Aggie suspicious. Fearing his neighbor was getting too close to the truth, Niles then killed Teddy and framed Aggie, making it appear as though she had taken revenge on her son’s killer.
Niles nearly succeeded with his elaborate plan, but he hadn’t anticipated Nina’s change of heart. At the very last moment, the main character from Snow’s novel, The Beast In Me, recorded Niles admitting everything and sent it to the police. As a result, he received three life sentences with no possibility of ever being released.
Brittany Snow’s Other 2025 Netflix Thriller Gave Her Character A Terrible Ending
In the end of The Beast In Me, Nina truly resolved the situation. Even though it put her and her unborn child at risk, she was the only one who managed to prove Niles was responsible for Teddy’s murder and that Aggie was innocent. With Niles later dying in prison and Aggie exonerated, Nina effectively saved the day.
This recent success was well-deserved for the lead actress, especially since her previous Netflix thriller, The Hunting Wives, didn’t give her as strong of a role. The Hunting Wives, based on May Cobb’s novel, was a much more over-the-top and playful story compared to The Beast In Me.
The show centered on Sophie, who moved to Maple Brook, Texas, and quickly realized her city upbringing hadn’t prepared her for the free-spirited, rural women who lived there. In the first season of The Hunting Wives, Sophie discovered the wives were involved in a murder, but the show didn’t give her character a satisfying conclusion.
The first season of The Hunting Wives ended on a shocking note: Sophie may have solved the initial mystery, but she became connected to a new murder. The finale saw her commit one killing and face threats from another character, leaving her story unresolved and setting the stage for season two without providing viewers with satisfying answers.
The Beast In Me Makes Brittany Snow’s Recent Career Trend Better
Netflix’s The Hunting Wives quickly became a hit, reaching the number one spot for over a week. Viewers clearly enjoyed the thrilling series, and its suspenseful ending led to a quick renewal for a second season.
Despite this success, the storyline for Snow’s character remained disappointing. The actress has experienced a significant career resurgence lately, with her 2025 Hulu true crime series, Murdaugh: Death in the Family, proving popular and attracting a large audience. This adds up to three successful thriller shows in a single year, solidifying Snow’s status as a rising star in the genre.
Snow has become a reliable choice for leading psychological thrillers. Fortunately, The Beast In Me works well as a complete story with a satisfying ending, unlike The Hunting Wives, which felt like it was setting up another movie. This is a welcome change, especially considering the ambiguous ending of Snow’s previous 2025 success.
Look, I’m really hoping we get another season of The Beast In Me, but honestly, the first season felt really complete. It had a satisfying start, middle, and end, and the way things wrapped up for Niles, Aggie, Nina, and Teddy – seeing that unchecked power finally get its comeuppance thanks to those two determined women – was just chef’s kiss. It felt so good! The Hunting Wives, though? That ending felt…well, less conclusive. It just didn’t quite stick the landing the way The Beast In Me did.
