The writer behind the popular series ‘The Beginning After the End‘, known as TurtleMe, recently unveiled his next big venture – a brand new series named ‘Soul Forged’. This announcement was shared on both his Patreon and X (previously Twitter) platforms on August 20th. Interestingly, this revelation came just days before the last chapter of ‘The Beginning After the End’ novel was published on August 22nd. ‘Soul Forged’ is the first of four new projects in the pipeline for TurtleMe, signifying his move from focusing on a single long-running title to a more diverse creative landscape.
The new series titled “Soul Forged” made its exclusive premiere on Patreon for subscribers on August 22nd, with a broader release set for November 7th, 2025, as part of Tapas Originals. In this sci-fi narrative, the protagonist Torrin Gray is a “RED,” an individual immune to radiation from interdimensional rifts but unable to acquire powers like most people. Torrin works as a boneforger, fabricating weapons for high-ranking soldiers called “ardents.” However, after seeing a murder within a rift and clandestinely acquiring incriminating evidence, he finds himself back in a city overrun by monstrous creatures called parabeasts and pursued by the very people he used to serve. Furthermore, TurtleMe recently hinted at three other series currently in development, but only providing three cryptic emojis as clues. Although the titles and specifics of these projects have yet to be disclosed, all four are being developed simultaneously.

Soul Forged Marks A New Direction

TurtleMe’s latest series, titled “Soul Forged“, represents a fresh venture since the debut of “The Beginning After the End” in 2018. A departure from his previous work, this new series signifies a change in TurtleMe’s creative approach. Unlike “TBATE“, which centered around a reincarnated king in a fantastical realm, “Soul Forged ” introduces a grittier, post-apocalyptic landscape shaped by interdimensional breaches and radiation. This is the first instance where TurtleMe is simultaneously working on multiple series, and “Soul Forged” stands as the lead title in this new chapter of his creative journey.
The narrative commences with the main character, Torrin Gray, observing a murder taking place within a multidimensional tear and stealing prohibited proof. Upon his return to the city, he encounters it infested by monstrous creatures known as parabeasts, and is pursued by the same military personnel who were once his clients as an artisan of boneforging weapons. The series offers a blend of popular genres including survival horror, science fiction, and fantasy, with elements of grimy industry settings and deformed beasts. As announced by TurtleMe, the debut of Soul Forged will first occur on Patreon from August 22nd, 2025, followed by a public release on Tapas on November 7th, 2025.
What Comes After TBATE: Three More Stories in the Works

Apart from “Soul Forged,” creator TurtleMe has disclosed that work is ongoing on three other original series. No titles or descriptions have been unveiled yet, but hints about each project were given using emoji icons on a blurred backdrop: (mountain), (bag), and (sword). These emojis appeared on his Patreon and social media feed as part of a plan showing four separate storylines, with “Soul Forged” filling the first slot. TurtleMe explained that all four series are being developed simultaneously, although specific release dates for the remaining three have not been set.
So far, TurtleMe’s artistic endeavors have primarily focused on “The Beginning After the End“, which spanned over seven years and garnered a large following on Tapas, Webtoon, and in print. Now that the novel version of “TBATE” ended on August 22nd, 2025, and its comic adaptation is approaching its final act, this transition towards a diverse collection of series appears to be part of a long-term growth plan.
TurtleMe has made it clear that each upcoming series will offer unique moods and backdrops, and none of them are related or connected to the storyline of TBATE. Essentially, all four projects are self-contained stories. Since no further details have been shared, fans have started brainstorming about the potential genres and themes for the remaining series, with ideas spanning from historical fantasy to science fiction thrillers.
