Golden Kamuy is preparing to wrap up its captivating story by adapting its concluding, thrilling chapter soon. A prologue film will precede the final season, providing a powerful and exhilarating setup for what’s to come in a theatrical experience. The series has been an enjoyable and thought-provoking ride so far, blending absurd humor with sophisticated political commentary. With the upcoming war arc, anticipation is high as it promises to escalate everything even further and meet the expectations of one of the best historical manga contenders.
As I gaze upon the screen, I notice the official account for the Golden Kamuy anime announcing that its grand finale will begin airing in January 2026. Accompanying this news is an intriguing poster. Moreover, two movies titled “Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kōjō-hen” have been announced, adapting the penultimate arc before the climactic battle for the coveted gold treasure unfolds. The first and second of these movies will hit Japanese theaters on October 10th and October 31st respectively, with Awich x Ali providing the theme song titled “Kogane no Kanata” (Beyond the Gold). With fans eagerly anticipating these feature films and the thrilling final arc, it’s an exhilarating moment to be a follower of Satoru Noda’s remarkable masterpiece.
Golden Kamuy’s Finale Is on the Horizon With Latest New Look

In the early 1900s, after the Russo-Japanese War in Hokkaido, Saichi Sugimoto, a soldier turned legendary figure called “Sugimoto the Immortal,” embarks on a journey to find gold as a means of honoring a vow to his late comrade. The goal: to support his friend’s family, especially his sick widow. He hears rumors of hidden Ainu gold that has been secreted by a murderer, whose accomplices had tattoos marking the map. Upon stumbling upon a body bearing such tattoos and surviving an attack from a bear (thanks to the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa, who lost her father in these events), they decide to work together to locate the treasure for reasons of justice and personal atonement.
For the final season’s cast list, we don’t have the details yet, but it’s expected to be similar to the movie’s lineup. Shizutaka Shizuhara is set to reprise his role as the chief animation director, while Noboro Takagi (known for Kuroko’s Basketball and Kingdom) will oversee the series composition. Additionally, Takumi Yamakawa will return to work on character designs, Jin Aketagawa (Fire Force) will be the sound director, and Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:Zero, Undead Unluck) will handle the music.
Golden Kamuy Movie Teaser Signals the End of an Era
This story’s climactic phase, often referred to as the Hakodate Arc, spans Chapters 280 through 314. It features alliances formed among the seven factions resembling the 7th Division, remnants of the Shinsengumi, Sofia’s group, and our main characters, who engage in a thrilling, isolated struggle for an enormous treasure trove of gold and land. This arc resolves numerous character conflicts and brings about fitting endings that are befitting of such a grand storyline.
Information regarding the number of episodes and the release date for the upcoming season of “Golden Kamuy” will be revealed later, but for now, enthusiasts of this exceptional manga can look forward to its highly anticipated conclusion.
